The big day has come and gone and I am already looking back at pictures and wishing I could do it all over again. I want to start by thanking each and every one of you that took the time to wish my husband (I can say that now!) and I well wishes. I had kept my wedding day look well under wraps, despite everyone requesting a sneak peak. Now that the day has passed, it is time to share my wedding day ensemble with you!
I am going to start with the gown. Many people thought I would wear something from the Alfred Angelo Disney Fairy Tale Bridal Collection. I thought that might be a bit too obvious. I can tell you that I was originally considering the Snow White dress in red, from the 2014 Alfred Angelo Disney Collection but, when I saw the dress I wore I knew it was the one.
The dress I wore is Allure Couture and the style number was c347. I will not lie. It was quite hard for me to find in a store to see in person. I was in contact with the people at Allure Bridal and they set me on the right path. I ended up in Queens, as many of you may have read, and Best Total Wedding Plaza took the best care of me. If I ever needed another gown (perhaps for vow renewals!) I would most definitely go back.
The dress is champagne/silver and the detail on the top is Swarovski crystals and pearls. It is beyond stunning. The bottom of the gown is what sold me. It is almost like a shredded organza. It was just the right amount of ruffle and it was so light!!!
The piece de resistance, to complete my mad hatter wedding, was the headpiece. I knew very early on that I didn’t want to wear a veil. I wanted something different which also meant a tiara was out of the question. I contacted a derby hat designer on Etsy to create the vision I had in mind. Boring Sidney is the store and Belle, the artist, created the most perfect teacup fascinator to bring my vision to life. With hidden Mickeys built into the design, the teacup was the talk of the day.
The shoes, believe it or not, are from Macys INC collection and were a release for their anniversary last year. I never did see them online but I found them at the Macys at the Mall of Millenia. The blue crystals shimmered as I walked and gave the illusion of fairy dust as the sparkled. They looked as if they were from a fairy tale.
Simple earrings and a bracelet from the Swarovski Store completed my look. I wanted to keep it classic and simple, so as to not detract from the dress and the fascinator. I loved the way the dress was styled by Allure Couture and I wanted to keep it as close to their vision as possible.
Overall, I think everything came together beautifully. I could not have asked for a more magical day and my vision of my overall look was exactly as I pictured. I want to thank those that helped me create the final look. Dreams do come true.
