This has definitely been Minnie Mouse’s year! The style icon has been all over the place – from Sephora to Kate Spade – everyone wants to celebrate the queen of dots.
In the latest release Disney is collaborating with four Chinese desingers to launch a new fashion collection inspired by Minnie Mouse. Ji Cheng, Han Lulu, Cindy Soong, and Makin Ma unveiled new Minnie-inspired designs during the 2016 Shanghai Fashion Week.
The innovative designs from Ji Cheng, Han Lulu, Cindy Soong and Makin Ma debuted during Shanghai Fashion Week which began on April 12, 2016. The collection of designs will highlight Minnie Mouse’s timeless vitality with unique interpretations of her iconic polka dots and bow.
Minnie Mouse has had an impact on the fashion industry since her debut in 1928. Minnie is feminine, classy, fun and flirty all rolled into one and this translate well into fashion and style.
“Minnie Mouse is Disney’s fashion star,” said Allen Au-Yeung, VP of Product Creative, The Walt Disney Company Greater China. “Since Minnie’s inception her classic polka dots and red bow have always been on trend and continue to appeal to young adult females in China and around the world. Disney China is pleased to work with these renowned Chinese designers, whose creative interpretations of Minnie’s style will connect with young fashionistas in China.”
Ji Cheng
Ji Cheng is recognized as China’s leading designer. Her designs have a warm, comfortable and exquisite style. She blends Chinese traditional embroidery with modern with and hand-made texture.

Han Lulu
