If you are anything like me, then giving a gift card as a gift is way harder than you would think! When I buy a gift card, I take my time and really think about the special occasion and the person receiving the card. Then I select a card design that I think they would like the most and fits the event. I think that they really appreciate my thoughtfulness. I know that I like it when people take the time to do the same for me! In fact, I have been known to keep gift cards that I find really pretty, long after there is no money on them. This year, Disney has made it even harder for me to pick by releasing 50th Anniversary Gift Cards. I just can’t decide! Spoiler alert: it looks like my whole family will be getting gift card this holiday season!
There are a total of five new cards. One for each park and then an all-over-one. All of the cards have a navy blue background and iridescent-looking graphics. Let’s take a peek at all of the beautiful designs on the four park themed cards!
Cinderella Castle stuns on the front of the Magic Kingdom card. Tinkerbell and Dumbo fly on either side of the castle. You can also see elements of classic rides from the Magic Kingdom such as Space Mountain, the Tea Cups, and The Haunted Mansion. The iridescent-looking graphics have a slightly pink tint on this card.
The Hollywood Tower of Terror looks anything but scary on the Hollywood Studios card. The graphics have a golden tint, reminiscent of old-school Hollywood glamour. Little stars twinkle in the background as the Millennium Falcone and a Green Army Man sail through the sky.
The steel-blue hue of the graphics on the Epcot card makes it look extremely futuristic. Stars dance around Spaceship Earth as a rocket ship passes by. There are also elements from the World Showcase, such as the Eiffel Tower and the El Castillo pyramid.
I’m loving all of the animals on the Animal Kingdom card. The green tones on the graphic match perfectly with the theme of the park. A large tree stands front and center on this card, while Expedition Everest and the Tree of Life sit in the background.
There is a 5th card that was sold at the Emporium when we were there but it is available online. It features the emblems from all 4 parks!
Each one of the cards comes with its own white sleeve with the words Walt Disney World 50 on the cover. Cinderella Castle is on the back of the sleeve above the words “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”. Each card is square. The words “The Most Magical Place on Earth” border each card. I almost want to laminate them and use them as coasters rather than spend them and throw them out.
The 50th Anniversary Gift Cards should be around for the whole 18 month celebration. Each one has a $15.00 minimum to purchase. We spotted them at The Emporium, but be on the lookout because you can never be too sure of where they might pop up. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they all might even appear on shopDisney!
