The Oogie Boogie Bash was quite amazing! The park closes for general admission at 6pm for the special ticketed event. The night we attended only D23 members were able to purchase tickets and it sold out in minutes. There were varying degrees of Halloween dress, from full costumes to Halloween shirts to street clothes. Your Fashionistas went as Sully, Mike Wazowski, and the doors from Monsters, Inc. I fully confess the Oogie Boogie Bash is frightfully fun!
Frightfully Fun Parade
Oh, the parades! Such wonderful entertainment. Even if you don’t know the lyrics, you can’t help but bop along to the beat. From the headless horseman to the Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers, the creepiest of characters staggered down the parade route.
The Treats
Pictures above are two of the specialty milkshake treats from Schmoozies: the Blood Orange Shake and the Minnie Witch Shake. How adorable is the Minnie Witch shake with the oreo ears, whipped cream hat and candied bow? Treat trails are a fabulous way to move a character meet and greet line. As the queue snakes around you encounter cast members with tubs of goodies to fill your bags. At the end of the treat trail, you encounter a special character. They are roped off , simply take a pic and keep moving! One great technique that was created during covid and put to good use now.
Characters
One of the best things about a holiday special ticketed event is the characters that come out of the deep dark crevices. Milling about are characters we’re not used to seeing at the parks and our regular favorites in special fashions. Mother Gothel, Cruella, Agatha, Oogie Boogie and Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle as the Sanderson sisters are just a few of the Who’s who of meet and greets.
Mickey’s Trick and Treat at Oogie Boogie Bash
What a fun dance party! This show is a fun way to rest for a bit and entertain the kids. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy get together to tell a “spooky” story and have fun along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed not only watching the show but the cast members boogieing along.
Walk through Villains Grove
Experience the Haunted Woods along with your favorite villainous influences. Illuminated candelabras start the journey down the path. Soon you encounter a crossroads of signs which cunningly switch and add confusion to directions. The Queen of Hearts and Scar also make their appearance on this journey. As you near the end, beautiful pin lights twinkle in the trees and literally find the light at the end of the tunnel.
The Oogie Boogie Bash was frightfully fun! I enjoyed the short lines for the rides, fabulous food, and seeing some Villain sightings. This is a must-do event for your trip to California!
Though tickets to this year’s Oogie Boogie Bash are sold out, it doesn’t mean you can’t head to Disneyland for Halloween fun!
