When I was a little girl, I would always beg my mother to tell me stories about when she was a child. I soaked in every memory that I could and would often ask her to tell the same stories over and over again. Many of the stories involved special food that she would eat with her family. I loved hearing about her cooking with her great aunt. Sometimes I would even try to recreate the recipes that she talked about.
