Each year, Disney releases a new collection of merchandise themed to commemorate that particular year. The 2018 collection features the slogan The Year to be Here, and it includes some fabulous pieces! There is even a not-so-hidden Mickey incorporated into the 2018. Do you see it?
This zip-front hoodie looks pretty basic on the front, but the back features a sparkly silver, embroidered design. It is gorgeous! A button motif of different park attractions and icons can be found on most of the merchandise. This one has only four buttons, leaving center stage for that big, sparkly castle! I do love a castle! This hoodie retails for $64.99.
This one is a cross between a sweatshirt and a sweater and is a much different style than what I’ve seen in the past. The artwork has a slightly vintage vibe to it. There are five buttons included on this one: one each to represent Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, and two additional ones to represent Magic Kingdom. This is one of the more understated designs in the collection, and it retails for $46.99.
There are two raglans available in this collection. The top one has a Mickey with a cute little smirk; that grin makes me wonder what he’s been up to! If you look closely, you can see the button pattern on his ears. The material on that one is a good bit thicker than I was expecting. It has a nice weight to it. It costs $34.99. The bottom shirt is more lightweight. The 2018 logo is embroidered, not screen-printed, which is a nice touch. The 2 and the 1 from the logo are a gray-on-gray pinstripe, while the 0 and 8 that form the hidden Mickey are a shimmery, charcoal color. This one retails for $42.99.
The last of the long-sleeved adult shirts is this gray, zip-front hoodie. It’s got three of our favorite classic characters on it, along with the castle, the year and slogan, and the buttons representing all four parks. This design is screened, but the colors are nice and bright. It retails for $49.99.
My favorite of the collection is actually this children’s hoodie. It features the same design as the adult hoodie, but it is embroidered and has that nice pop of red trim against the charcoal background. Plus, I love the addition of the Chip and Dale ear patch on the front! Even though this is a child’s size, it seems to run big. I fit into the large just fine, and the XL had room to spare. This one is $39.99.
The button motif is most prominent in this women’s cut tee. You can see park attractions, characters, and even treats. This shirt is so soft! I was really impressed with the quality of the material. It costs $36.99.
This baseball style tee manages to be super cute and basic at the same time. It is $39.99.
There are two basic tees in the collection, both retailing for $24.99. They range and n size from Small to XXXL.
Of course, no collection would be complete without matching Minnie ears! The ears themselves are made from a sparkly material that is either navy, charcoal, or black depending on how the light hits it. It’s gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see it in the sunlight! The puffy, blue bow has the button pattern. Even though the ears match the 2018 merchandise, they aren’t dated, so you can wear them well past next New Year’s Eve.
