With the removal of the Sorcerer’s hat from Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, merchandise that features the name of the park and the hat together have been hard to come by. There is a reason for this. Many people are buying what they can to remember this iconic structure before it is lost to the world of change. The other reason, aside from consumerism, is that there will not be any further production of these items. A source has told me that the Alex and Ani bangle has definitively been discontinued and there are other items that could potentially be discontinued as well. Here’s a closer look at the bangles that will be leaving us and other items that may join them.
The Disney’s Hollywood Studios bangle by Alex and Ani comes in two different finishes, silver and gold. The charm features the Disney’s Hollywood Studios logo along with the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat that will soon be gone. I’m assuming that a new bangle will replace this one, to represent the Disney Park but I am not sure if or when that will take place. In the meantime, there will be no further production of this one, if my source is correct. This bangle is no longer available on the Disney Store website and I have heard that it is also difficult, if not impossible, to find at Walt Disney World. I have spoken to Courtney at mousetoyourhouse and she still has inventory of both of these bangles! If you are interested in having a piece of history, in the form of jewelry, this may be the route you want to take. Mousetoyourhouse is the official personal shopper of Disney Fashionista. I am thrilled she still has some of these bangles for those of you that are interested.
The other item that is questionably being discontinued is the Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat charm by Pandora. This charm has been selling out everywhere, including the Disney Parks, Disney Store online and personal shoppers. Currently, there is no confirmation that this charm will be discontinued because, even though it is representative of the iconic hat at Hollywood Studios, it wasn’t designated as the Hollywood Studios charm. Sorcerer Mickey’s hat is actually from the movie Fantasia and that means that this charm could easily stick around. That doesn’t change the fact that it is virtually impossible to get your hands on at this moment. People loved this charm before we heard of the confirmation of the removal of Mickey’s Sorcerer hat at Disney’s Hollywood studios so you can imagine how popular it has become now. Courtney at mousetoyourhouse is currently sold out but has assured me she is planning to have more in stock soon so keep checking back with her if you are interested in obtaining this charm!
Those are the most popular items flying off the shelves that are or could be leaving us because of this change at Hollywood Studios. How do you feel about this change? Are you grabbing yourself a momento of Mickey’s Sorcerer hat before it’s gone? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
