I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to bring you a piece of fabulous jewelry from Beautiful Baubles each week. I am always intrigued with how the owner and creator, Rachel Surrette, comes up with her inspiration for each piece. I wondered if perhaps other people were thinking along those same lines. I discussed it with Rachel and we have decided to collaborate and bring you a kind of behind the scenes look at a different piece of jewelry every week. Today, we are going to take a look at the Neverland necklace.
Here’s what Rachel had to say about her inspiration behind the Neverland necklace.
“ Peter Pan is without a doubt my all time favorite children’s tale and I love the Disney movie. This necklace reminds us how to get to Neverland. It includes some pixie dust in a glass vial, a bright blue and antique gold compass, and two Crystal stars (on the right side of course) (see below). The faith, trust, and happy thoughts are up to the wearer. I chose this particular compass design because it reminds me of a Neverland map I saw once. The clear and blue stars are different sizes like they appear in the movie. The pixie dust is mostly white with a touch of other colors mixed in to bring the necklace together as one piece.”
I feel like hearing about the thought process behind this piece makes me appreciate this necklace even more. I want to thank Rachel, from Beautiful Baubles, for giving us insight into her creative process. If you are interested in acquiring this necklace for yourself, check it out at Beautiful Baubles.
