A week or so ago, I introduced you to the newest series of articles I am bringing to you- Insiders Look At Disney Jewelry With Beautiful Baubles. I personally am in love with this Disney inspired jewelry handmade in the USA by Rachel Surrette. This week, Rachel and I are bringing you another necklace from her collection. Let’s take a closer look inside the creative process that went into the Ursula necklace from Beautiful Baubles.
Let’s hear what Rachel has to say about the Ursula Necklace:
”This is the necklace that started it all for my shop! I had just started making jewelry and realized that I wanted to own a piece inspired by a Disney movie or character. What I saw when I went looking for it was that there were really limited options for those who wanted to show off their Disney sides: Childish, Expensive, or “obvious” pieces that included actual character images. What I wanted to create was something that was geared for people with normal budgets that still wanted to wear a Disney inspired piece. The first one I came up with was the Ursula necklace. There were so many great cosplay options out there made out of real shells with lights or polymer clay, but not what I wanted, so I came up with this design! A solid metal piece made to look like a real shell. If Ursula had come to life and was living in our world, this is what she would wear everyday. Its a great piece that can be worn by anyone, Disney lover or not.”
I want to thank Rachel for taking the time to give us a behind the scenes look at what it’s like to create a piece of Disney inspired jewelry. I own a few of her pieces and i love each and every one of them. If you are interested in purchasing this necklace you can click here.
