Snow White is getting her moment once again – years after the surge of Snow White & the Huntsman and Mirror Mirror. It is her 80th Anniversary, after all!
To mark the 80th anniversary of the 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ original release in, Bésame Cosmetics collaborated with Disney on a 15-piece collection inspired by the iconic film and princess. Bésame Cosmetics will release its Snow White: The 1937 Collection in Fall 2017.
Bésame Cosmetics was created by artist, cosmetic historian, and designer Gabriela Hernandez. Hernandez utilized her background in photography, art direction, and publishing to bring vintage romance to the make-up industry.
In developing the collection, Bésame was privy to the original color palette from Disney’s Ink and Paint Department.
The 1937 cel artwork and ink palette contained colors that were much softer, more muted and natural – a far cry from the pops of cherry red, royal blue, and sunflower yellow we associate with the Snow White of today. In being true to the 1937 film, the cosmetic collection draws upon those more subtle tones.
Original color names given by the Ink and Pain Department were maintained to lend authenticity and to offer a glimpse into the history of the beautiful and timeless classic.
We had the delight of viewing the entire collection at D23 Expo 2017.
Available as a D23 Expo exclusive was the Storybook Palette that will be made available later on in the fall, along with the other items of the collection.
Also in the Bésame collection is the mascara brush and solid mascara…
