Why am I sharing my Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park bucket list with y’all, you might ask? Well, with so much time to plan my next dream Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I decided to make a wish list of things I haven’t done yet, but definitely want to do, at each park! I figured sharing my list might help some of you with planning your dream trip, too!
Since food is always on my mind, let’s start with fabulous dining experiences! I am a HUGE Joe Rohde fan, so Tiffins Talks is absolutely on my bucket list! Even though it probably won’t be happening this year, I’m hoping this is going to be a tradition for each Earth Day celebration! This amazing dining event includes a fabulous multi-course meal along with storytelling from Joe Rhode himself! You will get to hear how Walt Disney Imagineers travelled all over to search for inspiration for this incredible park!
Next is Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night! This amazing event is a more family-friendly event inspired by The Lion King that includes food, fun, music, and learning about the “Big Five” animals, which are leopards, Cape buffalo, African elephants, rhinoceroses, and lions! The evening begins with a reception at the train station in Harambe where you will enjoy music, snacks, and beverages. You then hop on the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you’ll meet Timon and Rafiki and have a little family fun with more snacks, of course! You will end your evening in Harambe Market where you’ll enjoy a street festival celebration including music and storytelling! Here is where you will have your main meal with plenty of fun themed offerings! Man, I’m really hungry!
Speaking of evenings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I have only had the opportunity to spend the evening there once, and it was definitely not enough! Everything transforms when the sun sets, especially Pandora – The World of Avatar, so events like Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour are definitely on my list! Both of these give you the opportunity to experience as much as possible in the evening! I’m dying to go on Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain and Kilimanjaro Safaris at night! Plus, there are snacks!
Speaking of safaris, the Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience is a definite bucket list experience! This tour includes a privately guided safari that will take you to special secluded private viewing areas of the Savanna! You’ll even get to enjoy a sampling of African-inspired treats and beverages! To top it all off, you’ll get a commemorative keepsake! Breathtaking animals, scrumptious food, and surprise souvenirs! What more could you ask for!?
For the animal lovers like me, there is the Up Close with Rhinos tour that takes you backstage to meet some of the most amazing creatures on the planet–white rhinos! If you prefer elephants, check out the Caring for Giants tour where you’ll get to see African elephants closer than ever before! I love walking the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, so of course, I want to experience the Wild Africa Trek! This VIP expedition is full of thrills like crossing a rope bridge and close encounters with African wildlife like giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and crocodiles! You will receive complimentary photos of your experience so you can really be in the moment and soak it all in! To top it all off, you’ll get scrumptious African-inspired snacks along with a complimentary souvenir! Morning and afternoon tours have different food options, so you can always do both!
Although I have done it once before, I have to make sure I check out The Animation Experience at Conservation Station on my next visit. This is one of those experiences that is so much fun for the whole family! My husband and I really enjoyed learning how to draw Scar on our last trip, and I can’t wait to learn how to draw more Disney Characters! The Disney animators make it so easy to follow along and create your own masterpiece!
