Okay, the countdown is officially one for the live-action film, Beauty and the Beast. And more designers are jumping on board to celebrate. British designer Christopher Kane just launched a capsule collection that features ready to wear pieces for both men and women.
Kane discussed his latest designs on the Disney Style Blog.
I have loved Disney since my childhood, and all of the classics, of which Beauty and the Beast is one. It is such a great theme and story, with very iconic characters and a strong female voice. Looking back at past seasons, our archive was rich with elements that support Beauty and the Beast themes, and we were very much inspired by the film’s setting and mood.
This Beauty and the Beast inspired collection is different than what we have been seeing recently. The Christopher Kane capsule collection takes elements such as the enchanted rose, and colors from the film (blue and gold), to create one of a kind looks. Within the collection you will find dresses, skirts, jackets, accessories and more.
Do you need another reason to lust after these designs? Well, I’ll give you one! The Beauty and the Beast collection has been validated under the GCC Principles of Sustainable Excellence. In plain english – that means the collection is eco-friendly! For example, the Enchanted Rose T-Shirt is made from organic cotton.
Now you do have to wait just a few more days to shop the looks. The full collection will be available on March 16 at Christopher Kane’s flagship store in London. In addition, you can find the looks online as well as with select international retail partners including Selfridges, The Webster, Shinsegae, Isetan, Joyce, Breuninger, and Banner.
No word yet on the price range of the pieces.
