It’s been a little while since we have talked about Club 33, but today, all that changes! There is a Club 33 Dooney & Bourke bag that is covered in movie magic and nautical fun.

Before we talk about the shape and features of this bag, I want to first talk about the print and design. I must admit, I am a bit confused by it. That’s not to say I don’t like the design, because I do! But I feel like I’m missing a theme. Can anyone help me out?!
Regardless of a theme (or lack thereof), this design features plenty of different Disney elements to impress. First, the design features plenty of 33 logos to represent Club 33. It also features movie cameras and film reels that pay tribute to Disney’s long history of entertainment, while golden Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck statues give a nod to the many accolades Disney has picked up over the years.
For a nautical twist to things, this design features ships, anchors, shells, constellations, compasses, diving suits, and giant squids. Yes, giant squids.
Now, I put on my journalistic hat and did a little bit of digging. My best guess is that this bag is representing Disney’s 1954 film, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The film won two Academy Awards for its art direction and special effects. What does everyone else think though? Is there a connection here that I’m not making? Help me out!
Moving away from the pattern and on to the silhouette! I’m loving this large Barlow tote style! We have not seen very many (if any) bags with this style before, so I love that this is a departure from the standard tote, satchel, and crossbody style that we always see. What do you think of the style?
Inside, the bag is lined with a beautiful light teal that is perfect for spring and summer. This is one bag that is sure to be a conversation starter with other Disney fans wherever you go!
This bag was spotted at Club 33 in Epcot at Walt Disney World. Are there any Club 33 members that have seen it anywhere else?
