This week we Disney Bound with a character that is a tad bit unappreciated. She is also misrepresented and misunderstood. She’s not really a princess but gets listed with the princesses intermittently and this tends to bother some people. I find her positively magnetic. She wanted to bring her family honor and that is what she did. Therefore, this week we will honor the one and only Mulan as we Disney Bound with her and think of spring.
Mulan has a few different color schemes through out the film but we decided to go with the more vibrant colors instead of the boring browns she wears while she is in disguise. We are sick and tired of the cold and thought, perhaps, if we stick with a spring theme, the sun will come out and melt all this snow! So, we start with this sleeveless, scoop neck blue top. We pair that with a magenta, flared skater skirt. It’s only spring, and we aren’t completely unrealistic, so we have a coral sweater to keep our fashionista warm. To maintain the shape and add a pop of color we have added a pink belt. To keep a bounce in her step, we’ve paired the outfit with blue flats that are nothing short of fabulous (and crazy affordable)!
Now we’ll talk accessories. In her hair, we have placed a flower which is something we see through out the film and Mulan herself wears frequently. Her necklace is jade… remember the line from the film? “beads of jade for beauty”…. We even found a “mushu” ring so she would have her favorite (may be on over statement) traveling companion. The earrings are another fabulous find from Beautiful Baubles. If you are interested in purchasing these earrings, enter disfashion5 at check out for 5% off. The purse is a fabulous cherry blossom clutch that we thought would remind her of home and spring.
I hope this makes you feel as hopeful for spring as it makes us. That’s it for another week of Disney bounding with the Disney Fashionista. Did you like this week’s look? Let us know in the comment box below!
