It’s a new year and it’s time to bring back Disney Bounding with the Disney Fashionista! We took a week or so off around the holidays but decided to start the year of with a bang by Disney Bounding with one of our favorite mice. This isn’t just any old mouse. This is the Sorcerer of mice. Sorcerer Mickey is an iconic character from the movie Fantasia. With the sorcerer hat being removed from Disney’s Hollywood Studios very soon, I thought we should pay tribute to the mouse that wore the hat… the scintillating Sorcerer Mickey.
Sorcerer Mickey has a very distinct color palette that consists mainly of blue and red. Can we say primary colors? This makes putting together an outfit representing Sorcerer Mickey a tad difficult, as we don’t want to make it seem too patriotic, as that’s not really anything to do with his character. I think we did a pretty good job of doing just that. We started with a red dress that has a lower cut neckline. For those of you who are little more modest, we included a navy cami to wear underneath, if so desired. Black tights were chosen to keep warmer in these cooler temps. Brown, suede platform booties tie the look together… well, prior to the accessories!
For the accessories, we have a fabulous Pandora charm bracelet with the Sorcerer Mickey Hat charm, available from mousetoyourhouse, as well as other Pandora charms that suit the occasion. We also have a red and blue bow with stars on it, the most patriotic item in this look, I admit. The earrings are silver stars hanging from the moon which is exactly what is represented on Sorcerer Mickey’s hat!! Lastly, we have a Sorcerer Mickey PINdant necklace from Beautiful Baubles. I feel like all the jewelry in this outfit really tie the look together. Remember that if you are interested in the necklace from Beautiful Baubles, enter the code Disfashion5 for a 5% discount!!
We can’t stop with the outfit, as per the usual, we must include the makeup look. Like I always say, for myself anyway, the look isn’t complete until the makeup has been applied. This week, Katelynn Rose has not let us down with a look that features Sorcerer Mickey’s primary colors of blue and red with some gold mixed in for good measure. I think this look is one of our more wearable looks. At least, I know, I could wear this look without feeling like I am going to a costume party. I think she did an amazing job. If you are interested in trying this look yourself. follow these directions.
1. Apply a base to the lid to make the shadows last longer
2. Start with a soft brown shadow and blend it all into the crease up to the browbone, this will act as a transition color for the blue
3. Blend the brown further and apply a light champagne shadow under the brow as a highlighter
4. Apply the red shadow in the inner half of the eye and the blue in the outer half
5. Blend the navy blue with the brown used earlier, make everything smooth
6. Line your eyes, apply a dash of glitter in the inner corner and you’re done
That’s it for another week of Disney Bounding with the Disney Fashionista. I am truly excited to bring you new looks week after week and I have some exciting additions in store starting a bit later this year. Stay tuned for that!
