Disney Collaborates with High End Australian Fashion Label

Australian label Seduce has partnered with Disney to create a high end line inspired by Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass. The Wonderland Collection campaign stars model Megan Blake Irwin posed a Alice.

Filled with the ultimate party dresses, this collection definitely takes a trip down the Rabbit Hole. From floral, to top hats, to avant garde couture – this collection is definitely a departure from more recent Disney fashion collaborations.

Here is a look at some of the items from the collection.

CURIOUSER & CURIOUSER

Wonderland Collection 7 Wonderland Collection

“The Mad Hatter is having a tea party and everyone is invited. This soft delicate print recreates the feeling of the Mad Hatter’s Tea party with all of the characters we remember and love; The talking flowers, the cards, The White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Absolem and, of course, Alice.”

EVERY SECOND COUNTS

Wonderland Collection 6 Wonderland Collection 1

“Time is an important new character in Alice Through The Looking Glass inspiring our statement monochrome story, Every Second Counts. This eye-catching design includes guest appearances from the White Rabbit, a clock, cards, keys, drink me bottles, flamingoes, an iconic A and teacups, all with a beautiful border of intricate swirl detailing and the text “curiouser and curiouser” running along the edges. Then, to add to the madness, the print is flipped up, down and topsy turvy… almost as if you had fallen down a rabbit hole.”

THE GARDEN OF LIVE FLOWERS

Wonderland Collection 3

“Created in reference to one of our favourite scenes, Where Alice meets the talking flowers! Inspired by a a scene pulled from the movie, It features not only the talking flowers hiding amongst the wildlife but also appearances by Alice herself, The Cheshire Cat, The Field mouse, The White Rabbit and even The Mad Hatter’s Hat! This story is sure to surprise and delight with it’s subtle nod to Disney imagery whilst also being a stunning, vibrant floral print!”

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS

Wonderland Collection 5 Wonderland Collection 4

“Heads may roll but they will also turn with this sheer tulle story. The embroidery for Off With Their Heads was designed as a tribute to the Queen of Hearts featuring The White rabbit, The Queen herself, a multitude of hearts of all shapes & sizes and her Iconic statement “Off With Their Heads!” All set amongst a regal mix of swirls and twirls. The artwork has been specially crafted by hand to follow the curves of the body, creating a flattering silhouette. ”

For a closer look at the collection (and to see the actual pieces without all the stylized poses and set design) head over to Seduce’s website. I was a little hesitant about this collection at first, but once I saw the pieces in the collection without all the set additions and creative lighting, I began to like it quite a bit more! These shots are definitely beautiful, but they don’t do the clothing justice.

It’s clear that the Alice Through the Looking Glass inspiration is coming through, but I wish it featured a bit more Disney whimsy and magic as well.

What do you think of the new Seduce x Disney collection? Are you ready to take one of these dresses to a tea party, or are you happy to leave them behind? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Big thank you to Grazia and Seduce for the images and information.
