It’s a tale as old as time, but it’s getting a seriously fashionable update! We recently shared a sneak peek at DiFerdinando’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast handbags on IG, and now we have all the details about the new Disney | DiFerdinando collaboration.
Designer Danielle DiFerdinando approached the collection with one question in mind: “If this character lived today, what would she carry?”
Instead of recreating costumes or covering the bags in literal character imagery, DiFerdinando takes the personalities, settings, and stories we know and love and translates them into elevated, fashion-forward designs. The result is a collection that feels unmistakably Disney while still looking like something you could carry well beyond the Parks.
And Beauty and the Beast is only the beginning!

The new collaboration will explore four beloved Disney stories: Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Winnie the Pooh, and Alice in Wonderland.
Each collection uses details from its respective story as inspiration, incorporating everything from embroidery and debossing to unique silhouettes and unexpected little details. The handbags are designed as special-edition collectibles that celebrate Disney storytelling while embracing DiFerdinando’s romantic and feminine aesthetic.
The Disney | DiFerdinando story will unfold throughout October, with a new chapter arriving almost every week.
First up is Beauty and the Beast!
Step Inside the Gilded Ballroom
The Beauty and the Beast: Gilded Ballroom Collection is inspired by the grandeur and enchantment of Beast’s Castle, particularly its magnificent ballroom and treasured library.
Rather than simply placing Belle and the Beast on traditional handbags, the designs use sculptural debossing, detailed embroidery, and even corset-inspired construction to bring elements of their world into each piece.
The Gilded Ballroom Bowler Bags are a perfect example. The structured silhouette feels classic and sophisticated, while the elaborate detailing gives the bags the ornate quality you would expect to find inside Beast’s Castle.
We’ve spotted the bowler in several gorgeous shades, including deep red, golden chrome, and a pastel yellow. Look closely, and you’ll find intricate designs incorporated throughout the bags, giving Disney fans plenty of details to discover.
The Collection Arrives October 6th
We won’t have to wait long to see the full Beauty and the Beast collection! The Disney | DiFerdinando story officially begins October 6th, when the Beauty and the Beast collection launches on ShopDiFerdinando.com.
Then, on October 13th, the collaboration expands! We will be sharing the launches with you all through October!
Disney Storytelling Meets Everyday Fashion
What I find most interesting about Disney | DiFerdinando is that these bags aren’t trying to look like costumes. They take familiar elements from the stories and reinterpret them as fashion.
That makes them a great option for Disney fans who want something a little more subtle and sophisticated while still enjoying all those magical details we love discovering.
The collection will retail from $78 to $118 and will also be available through select retail partners, including Macy’s, HSN, Hot Topic, and more in time for the holiday season.
