I know that, for most, prom season is over. To some, that may seem like this news is too little, too late. I beg to differ! I am a Disney Bride. We like to have Park photo shoots and many of us like to wear a different gown than the ones we wore at our wedding. I don’t think this Prom Collection needs to be specifically for Prom. The Disney Forever Enchanted Prom Collection is a fashionistas dream come true… no matter the occasion!
The dresses in this collection are plentiful and one thing of note is that they don’t specifically say which Disney Princess is the inspiration. To be honest, some of the dresses could have a few different Princesses in mind. I thought I would share a few of my favorites and see if you agree with my thoughts on who inspired them.
I thought this one was inspired by Belle. Yes, I based that solely on color. I do like the sleekness, though, as well the fact that there is room to move. It would be lovely at prom or on a Park shoot!
I thought this would be a lovely Rapunzel inspired dress. Rapunzel is known for her purple and pink dress but she is also known for the flowers in her braid. This dress has the color and the flowers. The mermaid design of the gown is an unexpected silhouette for Rapunzel but I think it looks stunning.
When I look at either of these dresses, I see Elsa. The color is very Elsa but even the detailing reminds me of the Ice Queen. I think the one on the right is very much like her dress in the film, as well, and all it needs is the cape!
This stunning gown reminds me of Cinderella going to the ball. The blue is gorgeous and the encrusted bodice would be a knock out under the lights at the prom or at Magic Kingdom, in front of the castle, as the sun comes up (that’s when they do the Park shoots most of the time). I could see myself in this gown for an anniversary shoot in the future.
Now I am going to mess with your minds a bit. I see both of these as Sleeping Beauty. The one on the left is soft and delicate, which I think Aurora is. She is so innocent. I absolutely love the design and feel of this gown. The gown on the right reminds me of “make it pink, make it blue!” There are even swirls through out the fabric that would coincide with the twirling on the dance floor while the good fairies have their fun. I can honestly say that this one is the one I am keeping my eye on. I adore it.
This one is a little trickier. If Princesses are the inspiration, I see Merida. However, if Disney itself is the inspiration, I think the Jungle Book could even be considered. Regardless, this dress is very different from the others and it is a stand out piece. The bodice is form fitting but, if you look closely, this is really just a short, strapless dress with a gathered skirt overlay. Lots of ruffles and the flower at the hip add some extra fun to this look but it’s the contrasting colors on the inside of the skirt that make this a real stand out for me. Who do you see when you look at this gown?
They have made it super easy to determine who this is, don’t you agree. The apple is a dead giveaway. Snow White is the inspiration behind many of the dresses in this collection but I wanted to share the one with you that was most obviously her.
When I look at this gown, it may be the hair, but I see Ariel. The sea foam green certainly pushes me in that direction, as well, but this is most definitely The Little Mermaid for me. The dazzling neckline is lovely and means a necklace isn’t necessary…. I like that aspect. This is more of a prom gown than Park shoot gown for me yet it is still beautiful.
There are 3 whole pages of gowns to look at on the side I found these on. The site is called Glitterati and it is just fun to look through the pages of gowns and dream about where I could wear them. I am clearly too old for prom but many of these gowns are timeless.
