Last summer I shared a Disney inspired lingerie collection with you from overseas. The reactions were all over the place. “Is it okay to have Disney lingerie?”, many people asked. I am not one to dictate what is right or wrong but it looks like Disney inspired lingerie may be a new trend. Yandy has a Disney Princess inspired lingerie collection and it is drawing a lot of attention. The question is, is it too sexy or just right?
I will say they left practically no stone unturned in the variety of Disney Princesses that inspired these looks (I’m actually glad they left out Rapunzel, though. I love her but I don’t want to wear her inspired lingerie). The look above is clearly inspired by Belle. I do think this one is rather nice, especially with the rose detail on the front and on the back (check out the website). Can you believe this set is just under $24? Yep. I said set.
The website is calling all of these “lingerie costumes” and what that tells me is that they aren’t thinking these are wearable under your regular day attire. I would have to agree with that. That’s not to say that they aren’t perfectly inspired by their respective Princesses. Of course, the styling of these models makes all the difference. I think Nina Garcia (I’m a Project Runway addict) would agree that the styling is on point. This Jasmine inspired set is $28.95.
Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella have a more risque look to their “costumes.” I do find it a little ironic that a couple of the Princesses I consider the most innocent (Snow White and Cinderella.. just my opinion) have the naughtier looks. Strange juxtaposition, don’t you think?
I actually really like this Pocahontas inspired look. The high waisted panties and the creative top is unlike anything I have ever seen before. I like creativity and I can appreciate that about this look. I know many don’t affiliate Pocahontas as a Disney Princess but she was the daughter of a Native American Chief which makes her an American Princess.
It’s a good thing the cold doesn’t bother her, anyway. For me, I saw lingerie like this a lot while looking for bridal lingerie. This look, for me, is only Disney inspired because of the styling.
This is the Sleeping Beauty inspired look. This look, for me, doesn’t look Disney inspired at all but with the name including the word “Sleepless” I see that this is a Sleeping Beauty inspired look.
All of these Disney Princess inspired costumes are available on Yandy.com or will soon be available. I found a mix of both. The good news is that all the sets are under $30. That’s a steal of a deal for lingerie.
The question for you is… too sexy or just right? I am dying to hear what you all think! Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
