The Disney Lunar New Year 2022 merch has arrived both at Walt Disney World and online on ShopDisney. With the Year of the Tiger less than a month away, it’s time to get shopping!
Shirts
There are two shirts available on ShopDisney for Lunar New Year! While I’m still hoping for a spirit jersey as we’ve seen in years past, the available options are both really cute!
The first is a ladies’ fit shirt with Mickey Mouse and friends. This highly detailed shirt also features a tiger front and center, alongside a potted tree (I’m thinking either peach or plum blossoms since both are popular for Lunar New Year) and an orange tree (oranges are essential for celebrating Lunar New Year!). The characters on the front of the shirt translate to, “Little Tigers Bring Good Luck!” The back has an all-over pattern with Mickey and his friends and Fantasyland Castle!
Celebrate the Lunar New Year in festive style alongside the cutest chipmunks with the Chip ‘n’ Dale Lunar New Year 2022 shirt! The gold accents make this shirt especially auspicious for the new year.
Plush
Even your NuiMOs can celebrate with the Lunar New Year costumes (either with pants or a skirt). The fur trim and tiny details on these outfits are so stylish!
I think that it is really neat that both the Mickey Mouse plush and the Minnie Mouse plush have traditional Seollal outfits for 2022. That’s the traditional New Year holiday in Korea (which also follows the lunar calendar). Lunar New Year is celebrated by many Asian countries, and while there are some unifying traditions, each culture has its own unique way of celebrating.
Tumbler and Minnie Ears
We raved about these intricate and meaningful Lunar New Year ears when they arrived on ShopDisney! They are currently sold out online but available at World of Disney in Disney Springs.
I love getting drinkware to commemorate the new year, and this adorable Lunar New Year Tervis tumbler is definitely on my list! It features Mickey and friends in traditional outfits, alongside “Happy New Year” and “The Year of the Tiger” in gold. Important symbols for Lunar New Year are included around the tumbler, including lanterns (to scare away the Nian monster and bring good luck) and mandarin oranges (for good luck and prosperity).
