The talented Ali Williams created a collaborative project in honor of International Women’s Day (March 8th).This collaboration breaks the “bad role model” of Disney Princesses by showing what would happen if they were living today and had the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
This project features the work of photographers Jim Donnelly and Ruy “Geekstrong” Arena, and brings to life a series of nine images including Ariel the Archaeologist, Tiana the Food Scientist, and Rapunzel the Teacher.
“The true spirit of a princess has little to do with her glittering gowns and fairy godmother,” said Williams, “the power of the princess is in her kindness, bravery, and sense of adventure.”
Check out these gorgeous Disney Princess recreations as modern role models below:
Tiana, the Food Scientist
Snow White, the Therapist
Pocahontas, the Politician
Elsa, the Architect
Rapunzel, the Teacher
Belle, the Traveling Writer
Ariel, the Archaeologist
Anna, the Wedding Planner
Aurora, the Lawyer
After all, you don’t need a crown to change the world.
