Disneyland Resort has released a phased reopening proposal! Ever since we learned about Walt Disney World Resort’s reopening proposal, we have been anxiously awaiting news from Disneyland. We are so excited that it is finally here! The state and local governments still have to approve all of these dates, but we are hopeful!
The Downtown Disney District (including World of Disney) will be first with an opening date of July 9th followed by Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on July 17th. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will reopen on July 23rd!
Like Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort is going to implement a theme park reservation system to limit park capacity and help promote proper social distancing. All Guests, including Annual Passholders, will need to make reservations for park entry in advance. As expected, reservations will be subject to availability. We will learn more about this reservation system in the coming days. Also like Walt Disney World Resort, new ticket and Annual Passholder sales and renewals will be temporarily paused.
When Disneyland Resort reopens, new heath and safety measures will be in place. There will also be a Guest Experience Team throughout the resort to help Guests navigate these new measures. Events like parades and nighttime spectaculars that gather large groups will be temporarily discontinued, as will Character meets. Luckily, you will still be able to spot Characters in the parks in new magical ways!
