Five years after Disney announced the concept of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at the 2017 D23 Expo, a new set of ears has premiered. Enjoy a Perfect Picnic with Mickey’s Runaway Railway Ears! If you haven’t experienced the ride, you’re missing out! As a guest, the ride invites you to view the premier of a new Mickey Mouse movie. The movie, A Perfect Picnic, tells the story of our favorite couple as they enjoy a lovely outdoor meal. As they come across engineer Goofy, the plot derails and things get crazy!
These ears are the epitome of classic Mickey Mouse. What could be more All American than a Red and White Gingham bow? The detailed ears tell the story of the thrill-seeking ride. First, we have the man’s best friend, Pluto. He happily waits for his master with the Picnic basket ready! The second ear features Mickey and Minnie bounding down the road with a song in their heart and lips.
What I love about these ears is the story of Perfect Picnic continues on the back side of the ears. A classic railroad font is used to display the logo of the train on one ear, while the crazy Goofy waves in a reverse image. I won’t give away any more of the ride details, but they’re adorably fitting!
