Exciting Changes And Openings Are Coming To Walt Disney World Resort

The Disney Parks Blog has recently announced a lot of exciting changes and openings, so we wanted to make sure to share them with you! Let’s dive in!

First up, we have been anxiously awaiting the opening day announcement for TRON: Lightcycle / Run! Well now, it is finally here! This exciting new attraction will officially open on April 4th, 2023 at Magic Kingdom Park! The story picks up after TRON: Legacy, where Sam Flynn has opened a second gateway to the Grid! The first, of course, is in Shanghai Disneyland! When you enter the queue, you will be digitized and transported to the Grid for a Lightcycle race, playing as Team Blue against the Grid’s Programs, Team Orange, to be the first to race through the eight Energy Gates and win the game! This is one of the fastest roller coasters at any Disney park, so it is sure to be a fun one! Other exciting news includes updates on the nighttime spectaculars! “Happily Ever After” will be returning to Magic Kingdom Park on April 3rd and will include new projections on Main Street, U.S.A.! Over at EPCOT, an all-new nighttime spectacular will arrive in September, but until then, beginning April 3rd, “EPCOT Forever” will return! The fireworks platform for “Harmonious” will also begin undergoing a phased removal! Check out the full Disney Parks Blog article HERE!

Other exciting news around the Walt Disney World Resort includes the return of complimentary self-parking for Guests at Disney Resort Hotels, the ability for Annual Passholders to visit the parks after 2pm without needing a park pass reservation (other than on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park) coming soon, and, starting soon, attraction photo downloads being included with Disney Genie+!
