So much exciting News From Walt Disney World Resort was just released, and I don’t know which tidbit of information I am most excited about! Let’s dive in!
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
First up is news about Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser! We knew from a previous announcement that the opening was getting close, but I had no idea just HOW close it was! Now, Disney Parks Blog just announced that bookings for this out-of-this-world adventure will begin on October 28, 2021, for departures starting March 1, 2022! Disney Vacation Club Members, Annual Passholders, and Disney Visa Card Members will all get special opportunities to book!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Disney Parks Blog also announced another out-of-this-world adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, will also be opening in 2022! This family-friendly intergalactic chase through space and time comes in the form of a “storycoaster” that rotates 360 degrees! This will help you focus on the action! It also has the first reverse launch on a Disney coaster, and it is one of the longest indoor coasters in the world!
MagicBand+
Finally, Disney Parks Blog announced that MagicBand+ will be coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2022 to help celebrate the anniversary! This extra magical upgrade to the classic MagicBand will allow it to come alive after you enter a theme park! There will be color-changing lights, haptic vibrations, and gesture recognition so you can engage with the parks in new ways! You can become a bounty hunter finding virtual bounties in Black Spire Outpost, interact with the fabulous 50th Anniversary golden sculptures, and even feel at one with the nighttime spectaculars as your MagicBand+ lights up with the fireworks! These will become available next year with the option to purchase early at a discounted pre-arrival price for Guests and Annual Passholders. Don’t worry, you will also still be able to use the current MagicBands and the Disney MagicMobile service!
