How to Decorate Your Kitchen in Disney Style

Who doesn’t want to bring a little bit of magic into their everyday life? Well, we all can achieve that with a simple make-over of our houses! It is so easy, and yet, it can bring so much joy into your lives. In times like this, when we can’t travel yet, or spend a day at the most magical place on Earth – Disneyland, why don’t we move Disney to our homes? Creating a Disney-inspired decor is not such a big challenge if you put your heart and mind to it.

Starting with the kitchen, for example, can be a great idea. It is the place you probably spend a lot of time, especially if you like cooking. It is also the room where you start your day and get yourself together before a long day ahead of you. Besides, it is also a common area where your whole family gathers every day.

The General Theme

Before moving on to the room make-over processes, you have a lot of thinking to do. First of all, a Disney-style kitchen can be so many things at once. You can make a room that looks like a little Disneyland. You can go with the general Disney candied aesthetics. You can pick a Disney movie or cartoon as the main thing for your new project. Overall, there is a big difference between making a Mickey Mouse kitchen vs. creating a Disney-inspired kitchen. Let’s have a closer look at the differences between these two.

First, see which of these ideas appeal to you the most. Perhaps you want your kitchen to look like the one from the Snowhite or Aladdin (the way you imagine it to be). In such a case you have a rather narrow theme to work with, which is good. Your goal here is to simply copy the style and aesthetics of those movies. A Disney shop can be a great help in your pursuit, of course.

If you don’t want to live in a Mickey Mouse house, you can just find some style and decor inspiration in Disney themes. A few Disney decor items, a bright color palette, and smartly chosen kitchenware will do the trick.

Decor

You need to set your mind on the type of decorations as well as their amount before you start putting things on the walls. Trust us when we say, it is hard to see when you need to stop once you start purchasing or making these adorable decorations. This is why it is better to start with the plan. Think about what kind of objects you want to have, where to put them, and how they can work with each other.

Luckily, you can have multiple options when it comes to finding the right decor. You can buy Disney-inspired art pieces online. or seek them on garage sales. You can even ask your friends and family for some. Many of them probably have lots of Disney items they have once bought for their children but which now they store in the attic. Chances are, they would love to free some space and give you the decor elements you need.

Of course, you can always visit the official Disney shop. It is no surprise that Disney loves making all kinds of merchandise. You will surely find enough items there to make a whole Disney house if you want to. It is the most expensive option of all. Though, the items you get there will surely be high quality and will look the most authentic.

At last, you can do some DIY projects yourself, if you are into this kind of thing. It all depends on you, the amount of time you are ready to spend, and how crafty you are with the handmade projects. Overall, if you have children, they may love the idea of DIY decor, and the whole thing can turn into a nice family activity together.

Kitchenware

Last but not least, let’s talk about the kitchenware. Kitchenware is the soul of your kitchen. After all, without it, your kitchen is just a room like any other. You need your kitchenware, from utensils to pots, to reflect the general theme of the room. Depending on the theme of your kitchen, you can have every item with the Disney stamp on it, or you can have items that can fit in nicely in the general mood.

In case you decide to go with the latter, you can pick a color theme and create a certain look with it. For example, you can have every item in light blue after the Frozen color theme, or black and white after Disney signature colors. If you run with the former, you can get everything from affordable coffee makers to spoons styled in a Disney theme. In this case, you may not get to choose between the pour over coffee vs drip coffee makers though, but go with the one that has a Mickey Mouse head on it.
