I Just Can’t Wait To Own The Lion King Anniversary Collection

From the second that I saw the Lion King Anniversary Collection from Loungefly I have been singing “I just can’t wait to be king.” The Lion King is one of my favorite Disney movies and was on repeat in my house all the time growing up. The collection includes several statement pieces that I can’t wait to own!

All-Over Print

The first item is this All-Over Print Canvas Mini Backpack. If you love the movie just as much as I do, then this is the bag for you! You don’t have to choose a specific scene that you like the best because it has all of them covered. From Simba growing up with Timon and Pumbaa to Simba playing around with Mufasa, all of the major movie scenes are covered. There are also leaves, bugs, and animal prints all over the bag which gives it a jungle-themed look. It has forest green accents and golden hardware, which also complements the overall theme of the bag.

If you love this pattern, then you are in luck because there is also a matching Zipper Pouch Wristlet. The wristlet has the same color scheme as the backpack, but I think that the green handle really pops and looks like a leaf. This is great to grab and go when you don’t want to carry around the entire backpack.

Silhouettes

There is also a Hakuna Matata Silhouette Mini Backpack, found here. The jungle comes alive on the background of the backpack. In the front, we see a full moon with Timon leading the way as he, Pumbaa, and Simba prance around on a log. The moon glows in the dark and there are also several twinkling LED lights on the top part of the bag. There is also a small zipper-pull celebrating the movie’s 30th Anniversary.

We also see a matching 30th Anniversary lining on the inside of the bag.

Like the first mini backpack, this backpack also has a matching Zip Around Wallet, found here. This wallet has got to be one of my favorites because even though the jungle gang are only silhouettes, the designers have managed to capture Timon’s spunk, determination, and enthusiasm perfectly. The moon behind the trio also glows in the dark.

The lining of the wallet matches the lining of the backpack. It has several card slots and a small, clear slot with a baby Simba cut-out.

The final silhouette item is this Pride Rock Silhouette Crossbody Bag, found here. This vibrantly colored bag shows Pride Rock at sunrise as Simba is being introduced to a crowd of animals, just like the beginning of the movie. The crossbody strap has the same vibrant colors as the bag.

Open the bag and you will see that the circle of life continues to spin. Here, Simba and Nala introduce their new cub to the world, with the help of some familiar faces.

Simba Plush 

The final items in the 30th Anniversary collection are a little bit on the playful side. There is an adorable Simba Plush Mini Backpack, found here. Simba smiles enthusiastically on the bag. He is ready for a jungle adventure. Although the bag is fuzzy and extra soft, there is still tons of room for holding everything that you need to set off on an adventure.

If the bag wasn’t cute enough already, Loungefly upped the cuteness factor with this next hidden detail! Simba can lift up his little paws and show off a small bug that he has captured.

Finally, like the other mini backpacks in this collection, there is also a matching Plush Flap Wallet, found here. The wallet can be used in conjunction with the mini backpack or separately when you want to add a little dose of fun to an otherwise boring outfit.
