Halloween is my absolute favorite time to Walt Disney World. Why you ask? Well, there is Food and Wine Festival, Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party, less crowds, and gorgeous weather. And now I have another reason to visit during this spook-tacular time of year! Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will host a new meet and great with The Headless Horseman.
This new special event will feature a showing of the classic 1949 Disney animated film “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” After the film, you can meet the star by getting close to the Headless Horseman himself! I wonder if he will let me hold his head…
But to make the evening even more enchanting, guests will also receive a limited edition Headless Horseman pin. Premium ticket holders will also get a head filled with Halloween goodies. Now there is no official design yet for the limited edition pin, but looking at past events may give us an idea of what to expect. In past years, this Headless Horseman pin was released for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
I’m thinking the new pin will feature the Headless Horseman in all of his galloping glory. And I’m hoping that the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will be worked into the design as well. I don’t know about you, but I love collecting limited edition pins from the events that I attend at Disney Parks. It’s a great (and inexpensive) way to remember the event. For example, I always pick up a pin from the Halloween and Christmas parties. And Food and Wine Festival has had some great pins in the past as well.
I’m just hoping the Headless Horseman pin lives up the legend!
If you are interested in this new event offering, it’s slated to run on September 29th – 30th, each Thursday and Sunday in October as well as October 30th and 31st. The cost to attend will be $22 per person with premium seating setting guests back $38. Tickets for the event go on-sale 180 days in advance and tickets can be booked by calling 407.. As you can imagine, the event is expected to be popular so booking well in advance is strongly encouraged. That means mark your calendar for 180 days out and get to calling early in the morning!
What do you think about the new Headless Horseman meet and great at Walt Disney World? Is this something that you would like to check out? Any ideas on what the pin might look like? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments!
