It’s almost time for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story premiere, and I can’t quite contain my excitement! I have had an obsession with Star Wars since I was two years old, and I love that I can now fuel that obsession with the merchandise released with each new movie. One of my favorite Rogue One collections comes from Loungefly.
Several pieces of the new collection have a rugged military vibe, which perfectly suits the tone of the movie trailers I’ve seen. The Alliance Starbird backpack and the Rebel Alliance crossbody messenger bags have similar patterns. They are both a greenish-brown color with dark brown faux leather trim. The backpack has zippered faux leather pockets on each side, which add an unexpected richness without taking away from the overall utilitarian feel. There is a faded, dark red Rebellion symbol on the flap, and if you look closely, you can see some Arubesh symbols on the bottom left near the trim. One of the backpack straps has the word Rebel printed on it. It doesn’t take much imagination to picture this backpack on a Rebel Alliance soldier. The backpack retails for $75 (we found it online for under $70 through the link above!).
The messenger bag features many of the same details as the backpack. It also has the faux leather trim, the Arubesh symbols, and the Rebel Alliance symbol. This one also has a patch with the Rogue One insignia and costs $70. I honestly can’t decide which style I like more.
Loungefly also offers a trifold wallet that coordinates with both of these bags. It retails for $38.
If you prefer the Dark Side over the Alliance, there are two pieces that will make you very happy. The Death Trooper mini-dome and coordinating wallet are fierce! I have high expectations for these characters because of this bag. The black color makes this a versatile bag, and the bright yellow trim adds just a tiny pop of color. This is a a silhouette that Loungefly often includes in their collections; it’s a wonderful size and a fun bag to carry. I have the R2D2 version, and I always get compliments when I carry it. The mini-dome bag is $70 and the wallet is $40.
If you just can’t decide whether to join the Empire or the Rebellion, there’s also a bag and wallet for you! The Shoretrooper/Rebel 2-sided bag is similar in style, color, and detail to the backpack and messenger bag shown above. One side is devoted to the Rebellion. It has several patches, including a Red Leader patch not seen on the other bags. The opposite side of the bag has the symbol for the Empire along with Imperial patches. I love the Scarif patch with the beach and palm trees! This bag has faux leather handles in dark brown and features a snap top. It is priced at $75. It also has a matching wallet, which retails for $38.
One of the things that I like best about this collection is that so many of the pieces are gender neutral! My almost 15 year old son put the Starbird backpack on his Christmas list today. I find it hard to find “fun” presents for the guys in my life, but this collection definitely makes it easier. All of these pieces, and many other equally amazing ones, can be found at Loungefly.com. All pictures in this article came directly from their website. Comment below and tell us which of the new pieces you like best. Will you be adding any to your wish list or purchasing one for someone special?
