When anyone asks me “what is your favorite thing about Disney?” I have a few standards answers. I say things like “I love the magic,” or “it’s a great place to spend time with family,” or “have you ever tried a Dole Whip?!” But really, the reason I love Disney is so much more than any of those things. I love Disney for the way it makes me feel. I’m not talking about my sore feet and legs by the end of the day either. I’m talking about that warm feeling deep in my bones. The feeling that makes me think “this life is pretty great.”
Is there one place at Disney that always gives you that sense of magic and belonging? For me, it’s standing on Main Street USA watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
During my Disney College Program (all the way back in 2011), I worked on Main Street USA and got to watch the fireworks just about every night. Ever since then, I feel most at home when I’m standing close the Partners Statue, eating ice cream from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and watching the fireworks.
