Sometimes less is more. Minimalist designs can be really striking and versatile. A simple graphic or a clean typography can often make a stronger statement than something overly intricate. That’s exactly the case with the Simplistic Artwork by Yu Nagaba at UNIQLO.
If you’re not familiar with the artist, Yu’s signature style focuses on images created entirely of black and white lines with small amounts of color as accents. According to his personal webpage, “The motifs he chooses for his works comes from movies, art, and music that he encountered during and after his childhood, and are strongly influenced by American 90’s culture.” Both are 100% accurate with the newest Disney line at UNIQLO. In the women’s collection, discover popular classic characters such as Mickey and Pongo and Perdita, alongside more recent characters such as Baymax from Big Hero 6.
More of the simplistic artwork is found in the men’s line at UNIQLO. Here we again see the drawing of Mickey hugging his pal Pluto, which is a Fashionista favorite! There is also the addition of minimalistic drawn Marvel, Yoda and a men’s version of Baymax. I gotta say, I love the abstract style of the Donald Tee.
As we approach colder temperatures, finish the outfit with Yu Nagaba themed socks. Crew socks feature Groot, Toy Story, Star Wars and Mickey Mouse in a variety of colors.
