This is the weekend East Coast Fashionistas have been waiting for—the Steamboat Willie Harveys release! Three separate meet and greet shopping times were scheduled at Ever After Jewelry Co. in Disney Springs. The two Friday ones were a huge success, and I anticipate the Saturday event to be just as busy!
The Steamboat Willie pattern was first released in March at the Harveys store in California. For this second wave, Harveys introduced two new Disney Park exclusive silhouettes: the medium streamline tote and the hip pack!
The tote is two-sided with Mickey as Steamboat Willie on one side and a black and white vintage Minnie on the other. The Steamboat Willie has a striped background while the Minnie side is polka-dotted. This is almost like having two bags in one! I’m always partial to Minnie (and polka dots,) but I like having the Mickey option there as well. This tote retails for $178. Stock on the totes was running low on Friday; these are very popular!
The second of the park exclusive styles is the hip pack. This is such a versatile bag! It includes a longer strap, so it can be worn as a wristlet, crossbody bag, or hip pack. Melanie Harvey has mentioned before that this is one of her favorite styles, and she was actually wearing it as a hip pack at today’s event. This one has a gray background with a repeating pattern straight out of the old cartoon! It is the smallest of the bags but quite roomy! It retails for $108.
A messenger and wallet identical to the ones released in March were also included in today’s event. The mini messenger is a woven, mid-size bag and retails for $148. The wallet is check-book sized and sells for $98.
A matching keychain wristlet was included with each transaction as a free gift with purchase.
While of course the bags were the stars of the event, many guests were equally excited about meeting Dana and Melanie Harvey, the minds behind the Harveys company. I have heard from so many people that the Harveys are just a lovely, sweet couple. After meeting them, I can say in all honesty that it is completely true! They were a delight and seemed to truly enjoy interacting with their fans! They will also sign the inside of the bags for a personalized feel.
The last signing event of the weekend will be on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. Ever After is utilizing a virtual queue for the event, and it was so well-organized today! If you would like to use the virtual queue (and who wouldn’t?), stop by Ever After sometime during the day to receive a return time and a wristband. Then you can continue enjoying Disney Springs until it’s your return time. Think of it as a shopping Fastpass!
A very special thanks goes out to Dana and Melanie Harvey for spending the weekend with us East Coast Fashionistas and to the Cast Members who all worked so hard to make this event a success! You guys are very much appreciated!
At this time, these designs are not available online or on the app. A personal shopper is your best bet if you cannot attend the event in person. We recommend Diane at shopthemeparks.com. Please keep in mind that stock is limited and there is a limit of two of each style per person in store.
Which of the new designs are you most excited about? We want to hear your thoughts in the comments!
