The Disney and Dooney and Bourke collaboration has been extremely busy over the last six weeks, releasing five new patterns. With all of the hype, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy and overlook some of the detail on the designs, so today I’m going to highlight my favorite of the new patterns: Princess Keys.
I am a lover of all things pink, and I absolutely adore the beautiful pale pink color of this bag. The contrast of the pink against the black keys makes this bag versatile enough to use all year long.
The keys themselves are amazingly detailed! Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Ariel are all represented. The Cinderella key has the glass slipper at the top and the pumpkin carriage at the bottom. Cinderella’s carriage is my favorite Disney icon, so I was really excited to see it on a new bag!
Belle is my favorite princess, and her key is gorgeous! The top of the key looks like the iconic rose in the glass dome. Underneath the dome, there is a tribute to the shoulder drape of Belle’s dress and the top of the dome is reminiscent of Belle’s hairstyle. The bottom of the key features two stacks of books. This is definitely the most creative of the keys!
Aurora has one of the most recognizable crowns in all of the Disney kingdom, and it is featured prominently on her key. The body of the key has briars climbing up it, and the bottom has the famous spinning wheel.
Snow White’s key represents her but also has elements of the Evil Queen. The key is shaped like the Queen’s magic mirror and it has the enchanted apple front and center. The very top of the key features a tiny version of the Evil Queen’s crown with her crows on either side. Snow White’s crown appears on the bottom of the key.
Ariel’s key is super adorable! It has ocean influences all over it! The body of the key has ocean waves and bubbles trickling down from a seashell. The opposite end of the key shows Ariel’s dinglehopper, which is arguably the cutest of all the Disney Princess symbols. This key also has the flowers that Ariel wears on her hair. There is no guessing who this key belongs to!
The lining of the bag is very subdued and different from most Dooney and Bourke linings. It has an almost tweed look. The bag includes a long strap and a key finder strap as well.
The Princess Keys design is such an understated Disney bag, and it’s perfect for those times when you want to subtly express your love for Disney. It is available in the satchel style shown above for $268, the tote for $248, and the cross body for $198. Although it was originally marketed as an app exclusive, it is now being carried in Cherry Tree Lane at Disney Springs and Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom. The bag I’ve shown is currently wrapped up and sitting under my Christmas tree. I confess that I take a peek at it every now and then, but I trust my fellow Fashionistas to keep my secret!
