We already know about so many exciting changes coming to the Walt Disney World Resort for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, but now there are even more exciting announcements about The World’s Most Magical Celebration!
First up is the new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment,” coming to Magic Kingdom Park starting October 1st! This fabulous extravaganza will help you believe in magic and will feature melodious music, enhanced lighting, fabulous fireworks, and for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.!
Over at EPCOT, starting October 1st, we will finally get to see the long awaited “Harmonious”! This show in World Showcase Lagoon is one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park and includes technical magic like pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting, and other forms of media! This show will show off classic Disney songs with global interpretations by 240 artists in over 12 languages!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom isn’t going to be left out of the celebration, so beginning October 1st, you can check out “Disney KiteTails” several times a day in the Discovery River Amphitheater! Performers with wind catchers and kites perform in front of 3D kites out in the water that are up to 30 feet long! You will spot favorites like Simba, Zazu, Baloo, and King Louie!
Don’t forget about the EARidescent fashion makeovers for some of our favorite Characters including our hosts, Mickey and Minnie, and their friends, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale! You’ll get to see them multiple times each day when they travel through the park during “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade”! I’m gonna need Minnie’s dress in my size!
You will even get to see these Enchanted Eight Characters as golden sculptures near Cinderella Castle! There will be 50 total Characters enshrined in gold across all four theme parks in the sculpture series titled, “Disney Fab 50”! We can’t wait to get more information about these sculptures and how we can interact with them during the celebration!
Last, but certainly not least, to commemorate your visit to The World’s Most Magical Celebration, you will be able to bring home a copy of Walt Disney World: A Portrait of the First Half Century, which is a coffee table book from Disney Editions that gives an insider’s look at the history and evolution of Walt Disney World Resort! There are tons of books releasing for the fabulous celebration including coloring books, cookbooks, and vacation guides for both adults and kids, and you can check them all out HERE!
