Today, we are bringing you everything you need to know about Disney Cruise Line’s expanding fleet. If you follow Disney news at all, you know that Disney Cruise Line is setting sail for some major updates in the coming years. Some of these updates include an expansion of its fleet, a new class of vessel, and the addition of a fourth ship in the Wish class.
Everything You Need to Know About Disney Cruise Line’s Expanding Fleet
Disney Cruise Line has revealed more details about what the next few years will bring to the seas. While we were teased with information in August 2024 at D23 Expo, there are now more details to savor.

Fourth Ship in the Wish Class
Disney Cruise Line has revealed that a fourth ship within the Wish-class fleet will debut in 2027. That means we will have the Wish, Treasure, Destiny, and a future un-named ship. This new ship will have a capacity for 4,000 passengers.
New Ship Class
According to Seatrade Cruise News, Disney Cruise Line has also revealed the addition of three ships in a new ship class. These ships will feature industry-leading technology and design. These ships will be designed to carry 3,000 Guests and measure slightly smaller than the Wish-class ships.
To be precise, the new ships will measure approximately 100,000 gross tons, making them 20% larger than the Disney Magic class, but smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Wish classes. The size of the new ships will allow Disney Cruise Line to access more ports and destinations across the world. As of right now, not all ports and destinations can support ships the size of the Disney Dream and Disney Wish. The three ships are planned for delivery in 2029, 2030 and 2031.
“As we expand our fleet, it is important that we continue to provide a variety of experiences for our Guests. Families enjoy the diversity of vacations we offer, from our classic vessels to our Wish-class ships. They also expect to explore a broad range of destinations, including those that prefer to host smaller ships,” said Thomas Mazloum, president, New Experiences Portfolio & Disney Signature Experiences. “At the same time, we are focused on implementing new technology and designs that align with our longstanding commitment to the environment.”
“Our team of Disney Imagineers is dreaming up this new class of ships to be as fuel and energy efficient as possible, and our Guests will see the difference – from a more hydrodynamic design to lighter materials and energy-efficient technology throughout the ships,” said Philip Gennotte, Portfolio Project Management Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering. “We’re very proud to continue to support Disney’s broader environmental goals, now and into the future.”
13 Ships in 2031
After debuting the second Wish-class ship, the Disney Treasure in December, Disney Cruise Line currently fields six vessels. Together with this year’s Disney Destiny (third in the Wish class) and the big (208,000gt) Disney Adventure (originally Global Dream), the fleet will number 13 in 2031.
