Can you believe that our beloved Mickey Mouse is turning 90 years old this year? That’s right! Mickey’s birthday is November 18th and the big cheese himself is celebrating a milestone. We’ve had 90 years of Mickey making us laugh, cry, and sing. M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E.
There is no denying that Mickey Mouse is a pop culture icon! To celebrate our favorite mouse, Vault by Vans has partnered with four different artists to create brand new designs. Each designer drew inspiration from Mickey to create artwork that will be featured on Vans’ OG Sk8-Hi LX as well as on a short-sleeved tee.
Geoff McFetridge
McFetridge is a Canadian designer, illustrator, and animator. With a background like that, you know his Mickey art is going to be amazing! McFetridge drew inspiration from Mickey’s famous yellow shoes to bring this look to life.
John Van Hamersveld
Illustrator and graphic designer John Van Hamersveld takes a look at Mickey’s silhouette in this design to create a one-of-a-kind look. Mickey’s shadow looks 10 feet tall as he races to his next film role.
Taka Hayashi
Soar above the clouds with this Mickey Mouse hot air balloon design from designer Taka Hayashi. The shoes feature a denim on denim look like the shirt has a nice vintage style design. For fans of the classic Vans, Mickey’s hot air balloon way bring to mind Vans’ signature pattern.
Mark Machado
Tattoo artist Mark Machedo is known as Mr. Cartoon, so it’s no surprise that he was chosen to help bring Mickey to life in this new collection. His design features Mickey driving a vintage car in a classic black and white style.
