The theming on the Disney Destiny is all about Heroes and Villains. You never know who (or what) you’re going to run into. When we sailed last December, we ran into quite a bit of BOTH! We would like to share with you the darker side of Disney in this article. Walk with us as we share the villain encounters on the Destiny.
Villain Encounters
We had heard the pop-up show with Dr Facilier was a DON’T MISS. So as soon as we boarded, we put out some feelers to find out where it was located. In the process, we met one of our favorite entertainment cast members of the cruise! Whereas pictures are not allowed during this interaction, you will have opportunities later in the cruise for photo ops, which is where these pictures are derived. The pop-up show was mind-blowing, and black magic was indeed at play! Our own Fashionista Barbara was selected to participate.
DeVil’s was, quite frankly, an amazing lounge. From the black and white curtained hair behind the piano to the spotted ceiling, no detail was left undone. It’s definitely worth seeing in the daylight so you can closely see the attention to detail in full illumination. We were able to attend a show one night in the lounge. Make sure you line up early, as the seats fill up early! During this show, Cruella herself makes an appearance and asks for a new theme song to be written for her. This video shows our experience. Make sure to try the signature drinks, but maybe wait until after the show so they stay fresh!
More Encounters on the Destiny
There are multiple shows in the atrium. On the Disney Destiny, Disney created a storytelling duo named Zayah and Gamble to fill the role of storytellers. They host interactive entertainment, storytelling experiences, and special shows tied to the ship’s Heroes and Villains theme. We thoroughly enjoyed getting up close and personal with Loki during his story. Other interactive shows included characters such as Dr. Facilier, Black Panther and more. Maleficent was fabulously evil and a definite don’t miss!
Again, Cruella made a bold statement in the atrium during the Cruella Fashion Show (see video HERE). Cruisers were able to participate in the fashion show along with the icon herself in a multitude of categories. The audience helps vote for the winner. Can your family rock the Dalmatian Spots?
