Disney fans, there is a LOT to look forward to! The Disney Entertainment Showcase took over the Honda Center during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and the announcements came fast and furious. From Frozen 3 and Coco 2 to a live-action Tangled, Lilo & Stitch 2, Marvel’s new X-Men, and even the return of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Disney gave fans a massive look at what is coming over the next several years.
Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro kicked off the sold-out showcase before stars, filmmakers, and creators from across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney Entertainment Television, and more took the stage.
There is way too much news to keep to ourselves, so let’s break down some of the biggest announcements from the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23 2026!
Lilo & Stitch 2 Brings Angel to the Big Screen
Stitch is getting another adventure, and this time Angel is coming along for the ride!

Maia Kealoha, who plays Lilo in the live-action Lilo & Stitch, appeared during the showcase before Stitch popped up on the big screen alongside his pink counterpart, Angel.
Disney confirmed that Lilo & Stitch 2 will begin production in Hawaiʻi later this year. Chris Sanders, who co-created, co-wrote, and directed the original 2002 animated film and has provided the voice of Stitch in both animated and live-action projects, will direct.
Lilo & Stitch 2 is scheduled to arrive in theaters May 26, 2028.
The Bluey Movie Gets Its First Teaser
Bluey is headed to the big screen!

Disney debuted a new teaser trailer and poster for The Bluey Movie, which follows Bluey and her family through an action-packed day when a big surprise changes everything.
The film is written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, with Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack returning as Chilli and Bandit.
The Bluey Movie arrives in theaters August 6, 2027.
Ice Age: Boiling Point Introduces Jurassic Scrat
The Ice Age herd is officially back!

Queen Latifah and Denis Leary appeared at D23 to introduce an exclusive clip from Ice Age: Boiling Point. In addition to Scrat and Baby Scrat, fans were introduced to an enormous prehistoric relative named Jurassic Scrat.
The new adventure will send Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Buck, and the rest of the gang into never-before-seen areas of the Lost World filled with dinosaurs and lava.
Ice Age: Boiling Point arrives exclusively in theaters February 5, 2027.
Disney’s Live-Action Tangled Is Coming in 2028
We also received more details about Disney’s upcoming live-action Tangled!

Kathryn Hahn, who will play Mother Gothel, appeared during the showcase. Fans also saw a recorded message from Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim, who will play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider and are currently filming in Spain.
The cast also includes Caitríona Balfe as Queen Arianna, Elliot Cowan as King Frederic, Diego Luna as a new character named Hawthorne, and Patrick and Hugo McPherson as the Stabbington twins.
Directed by Michael Gracey, Disney’s live-action Tangled opens in theaters March 31, 2028.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Gets a Disney+ Series
One of Walt Disney’s earliest characters is making a major comeback.

Disney Legend Jon Favreau is behind Oswald, an all-new live-action and animated hybrid series starring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
The story begins when an earthquake releases Oswald, who has been hidden away since the 1920s. A middle school boy and his friends then have to help the cartoon rabbit figure out life in the modern world.
The series stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Ryder Allen, Al Madrigal, Kathryn Hahn, and Albert Brooks.
Oswald premieres February 17, 2027, exclusively on Disney+.
Incredibles 3 Is Officially Coming in 2028
The Parr family is ready for another super adventure!


Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter debuted an exclusive first look at Incredibles 3, which will once again bring the fan-favorite family of Supers together.
The film is directed by Peter Sohn, with Dana Murray and Brad Bird producing.
Incredibles 3 arrives exclusively in theaters June 16, 2028.
Coco 2 Takes Miguel Back to the Land of the Dead
Pixar also shared some exciting new details about Coco 2.

New concept art revealed an older Miguel, now a teenager. Benjamin Bratt also joined Pete Docter onstage and confirmed that Ernesto de la Cruz will return.
His reappearance will lead to another life-changing journey to the Land of the Dead for Miguel.
The original filmmaking team is returning, including director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina. Coco 2 is scheduled to arrive in theaters in November 2029.
Kingdom Hearts fans also received a surprise connection! Disney & Pixar Games and Square Enix revealed that Kingdom Hearts IV will include a world inspired by Coco. The game is currently targeting a late 2027 release.
Pixar Announces New Original Film Ghost Market
Pixar is also developing a brand-new original story called Ghost Market.

Set on Oʻahu’s North Shore, the film centers around ʻOno Market, a hidden plate lunch shop that serves lost spirits stuck between life and death. No living person has ever entered the mysterious restaurant until a fast-talking kid named Kyle accidentally finds his way inside.
The supernatural adventure is directed by Trevor Jimenez and Jesse Andrews.
Ghost Market is scheduled for theatrical release in March 2028.
Gatto Heads to Venice in 2027
Pixar also shared a D23-exclusive look at Gatto, which follows a scrappy black cat named Nero through the streets and canals of Venice.

Voiced by Mark Ruffalo, Nero is indebted to ruthless feline mob boss Rocco, voiced by Laurence Fishburne. An unexpected friendship may finally help Nero discover his purpose.
The film reunites Luca director Enrico Casarosa and producer Andrea Warren.
Gatto arrives in theaters March 5, 2027.
Marvel Reveals VisionQuest, Avengers: Doomsday, and X-Men News
Marvel Studios brought some huge announcements to D23.

Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige debuted a first look at VisionQuest. The Disney+ series concludes the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
The story follows Vision after his escape from those attempting to weaponize him. While searching for meaning, he encounters the AI personas embedded within his programming, including Ultron.
VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ October 14, 2026.
Fans also received a new look at Avengers: Doomsday. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell joined Feige onstage to preview the film, which will bring heroes from three different universes together against an existential threat.


Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters December 18, 2026.
Marvel then turned its attention to the X-Men!
Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey, with Kit Connor as Scott Summers, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury.
The currently untitled X-Men movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters May 5, 2028.
Ahsoka Season 2 Arrives in January
The galaxy far, far away was also well represented at D23.

Dave Filoni joined Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, and Eman Esfandi to debut the teaser trailer for Season 2 of Ahsoka.
The new season continues Ahsoka and Sabine Wren’s journey while their friends Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper face Grand Admiral Thrawn and his allies.
Ahsoka Season 2 premieres January 20, 2027, exclusively on Disney+.
Ryan Gosling Leads Star Wars: Starfighter
Director Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling also gave fans a look at the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter.


Gosling made quite an entrance in a retro Mickey Mouse Club leather jacket, a nod to his days as a Mouseketeer. We have it all HERE on our IG!
The new theatrical adventure follows a cynical rogue whose mysterious past sends him on a dangerous journey across the galaxy. The cast also includes Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, Flynn Gray, and Amy Adams.
Star Wars: Starfighter opens May 28, 2027.
Zootopia 3 Is Officially in Development
Judy Hopps and the residents of Zootopia have more stories to tell!

Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan joined Walt Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush to announce that Zootopia 3 is officially in early development.
D23 attendees were treated to an exclusive custom sequence from the project, but Disney has not yet announced a release date.
Disney Animation Announces Clay
Walt Disney Animation Studios also announced an original animated feature currently titled Clay.

Kieran Culkin will voice Flip, a rebellious misfit living in a magical forest filled with fantastical creatures. Flip is unexpectedly chosen to mentor a young ball of clay named Mushy, sending the pair on a chaotic and life-changing adventure.
Clay is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2028.
Disney’s Hexed Adds Walton Goggins and Jodie Foster
More casting news was revealed for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hexed.





Hailee Steinfeld voices Billie Doe, a teenage girl who discovers that she possesses secret magical abilities. Walton Goggins will voice Beef Roger Crummchuk, a reclusive three-eyed magical cat, while Jodie Foster will voice the villainous Queen Celeste.
Rashida Jones voices Billie’s mother, Alice.
Disney’s Hexed arrives in theaters November 25, 2026.
Frozen 3 Closes the Showcase With a Huge Surprise
Of course, Disney saved something extra magical for the end.

Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel took the stage and performed a new version of “Frozen Heart,” while Josh Gad debuted a new Olaf love song titled “Ooooh, Samantha.”
Fans then got their first look at new animation featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven. Perhaps the biggest tease was the appearance of a mysterious new villainess whose powers appear capable of rivaling Elsa’s!
Frozen 3 is directed by Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy and will arrive in theaters November 24, 2027.

Kingdom Hearts Is Getting an Anime Series
There was even more Kingdom Hearts news during the Disney Entertainment Television portion of the evening.
A new Kingdom Hearts anime series is officially in development for Disney Channel and Disney+. Developed in partnership with Tetsuya Nomura, the series will tell a brand-new story while expanding the universe of the beloved video game franchise.
A premiere date has not yet been announced.
Percy Jackson Season 3 Gets a Premiere Date
Percy Jackson and the Olympians brought a little mythology to the Honda Center with a presentation inspired by The Titan’s Curse.
Walker Scobell was joined by Ming-Na Wen as Hera and Andra Day as Athena to debut the official teaser trailer for the third season.
Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres November 20, 2026, on Disney+.
The Greatest Showman Heads to the West End
The magic was not limited to screens.
Disney Theatrical Group announced that its new stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman will move to Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End in spring 2027 following its sell-out run at The Bristol Hippodrome.
Oliver Tompsett will star as P.T. Barnum alongside Samantha Barks as Charity Barnum, Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz, Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, and Vajèn van den Bosch as Jenny Lind.
Even More D23 Announcements
The Entertainment Showcase was only part of the first day of D23.
Disney and Formula 1 announced that their “Fuel the Magic” collaboration has been extended through 2028, bringing more experiences, content, and merchandise to Disney and racing fans.
Disney also revealed that Mundo Pixar Experience, billed as the world’s largest immersive Pixar experience, will launch its first U.S. tour in 2027. Additional cities and dates will be announced later.
Across the Anaheim Convention Center, fans also explored the largest D23 show floor to date, complete with immersive experiences, panels, exclusive merchandise, collectibles, pins, apparel, artwork, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate Disney fandom.
And this is only the beginning! With Frozen 3, Tangled, Coco 2, Incredibles 3, Lilo & Stitch 2, Zootopia 3, Avengers: Doomsday, X-Men, Ahsoka, Star Wars: Starfighter, and so much more on the horizon, Disney fans have a very busy few years ahead.
