One of my favorite perks of being an Annual Passholder is attending the Super Saturday events at Disney Springs. Held on the second Saturday of each month, APs are able to get in to select stores one hour before they open to the general public. Additionally, special discounts, offers, and samples are also available. This month’s theme was Christmas in July, and it was a festive occasion for sure!
Colorful flags decorated the walkways and welcomed Passholders to the event. Guest Services representatives were outside participating shops scanning passes and magic bands. Because the event is exclusive to passholders, the shops are much less crowded. This was especially noticeable in the newly renovated World of Disney. The lack of crowds combined with the new open floor plan made shopping a breeze! Live music entertained guests as they shopped.
Several smaller shops set up Table Shops with small amounts of merchandise. Many of these also offered discounts to be used later in the day. For example, Sugarboo & Co. offered 20% off any one item and 10% off additional purchases. UGG offered 10% off and a beach tote as a gift with purchase. Erwin Pearl gave 10% discounts, and Disney’s Days of Christmas gave a free line of personalization on any ornament.
Freebies are always a fun addition to any event! Terralina Crafted Italian prepared polenta and meatball samples while YeSake served strawberry slushies. Kiehl’s gave complimentary packets of sunscreen which came in handy later in the day, and Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. sampled their Winter Wonderland flavor.
A few restaurants offered special dishes or services for the day. The Ganachery offered chocolates and mimosas for purchase and also previewed their Gingerbread House Piñatas. The Daily Poutine offered a signature breakfast poutine not normally on the menu. Candy Cauldron and Goofy’s Candy Co. gave away a free Glacier to anyone who purchased from one of the Disney merchandise stores.
Little Mouseketeers also got to make ornaments at an activity station in The Disney Corner. It was a simple project, but all of the little ones seemed to be having a great time! T-Rex Cafe catered to younger guests with a special release of reindeer and matching Christmas outfits in their Build-a-Bear section and also announced their dates for Breakfast with Santa.
The next AP Super Saturday is scheduled for August 11 and will have a Back to School theme. I love that Disney appreciates their Passholders and creates special opportunities for them. One extra hour of shopping time might seem like a small thing, but Disney manages to pack that hour full of fun experiences!
