Spring Dapper Day 2018 was a fun filled weekend of events spanning Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian, and Epcot. I had the pleasure of attending the events on Saturday, and it was a lovely day filled with even lovelier people.
I spent most of my time at Magic Kingdom simply admiring the stylish and creative ensembles of the guests. On Dapper Day, people watching is truly an attraction in its own right! Many Fashionistas chose outfits inspired by Disney characters, but others just wore clothing with a dressier vibe than normal theme park attire. Dresses from The Dress Shop in Disney Springs were a popular choice. Since Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom is now carrying an assortment of these dresses, some Cast Members were able to get in on the Dapper Day fun by modeling the dresses. Don’t these ladies look beautiful?
Photo ops are a fun (and almost required) part of any Disney event. For Dapper Day, the Main Street vehicles were available for pictures as well as a Wish You Were Here photo frame with a vintage postcard feel. Photopass photographers were stationed at the famous Purple Wall and all along Main Street. Some of the photos were even in black and white!
The highlight of my day was the Disney Fashionista/Chip and Co. group photo. It was so much fun meeting some of our readers, and the outfits were perfection!
After leaving Magic Kingdom, I visited The Grand Floridian for a peek at the Dapper Day merchandise. Several boutiques and clothing lines were represented, including Pinup Girl, Ákanbí, The Peach and the Palm Tree, and Retromended. Pinup Girl collaborated with Americana expert Charles Phoenix for a lovely Dapper Day collection that will be carried at The Dress Shop while supplies last. If you need a little help procuring these pieces Diane, the Disney Fashionista personal shopper, can help. You can contact her HERE.
This pink concoction features a whimsical design of lobsters and lemons. The colors are so bright and fun! The dress retails for $184 and the skirt is $98.
This blue dress is another result of the Pinup Girl/Charles Phoenix collection. It features nautical flags in pastel prints. The dress is $184 and the skirt is $98.
The last two prints in the collection are more abstract. A dress and matching jacket in the blue and yellow pattern retails for $240. The blue and white one is $229. Both patterns are also available as a unisex button down shirt for $92 each.
These designs coordinated with the official Dapper Day merchandise. Scarves, pocket squares, trading pins, and parasols made stylish souvenirs.
All Disney events seem to have a dedicated cupcake, and I found this tasty treat at Marketplace Cafe at The Boardwalk. The snickerdoodle flavor and stunning decorations made this my favorite “event cupcake.” (And yes, I’ve probably tried them all!)
Even though Dapper Day isn’t an elaborate Disney event, it is certainly a guest favorite! If you have a picture of a favorite Dapper Day ensemble, drop it in the comments! We would love to see it!
