Sailing onboard the Disney Wish is already a treat in itself. However, if you are looking for a true indulgence, you must dine at Enchante. The dessert party features six amazing creations that are a delight for your taste buds.
As we are currently sailing the Disney Wish, we want to share this decadent experience with you all! But first, a big thank you to Small World Vacations for hosting our cruising!
Enchante offers the most luxurious dining experience aboard the Disney Wish, featuring a French inspired menu crafted by 3-Michelin starred Chef Arnaud Lallement. It’s also under the watchful eye of maitre extraordinaire Lumiere, whose introductory greeting to Belle provides both the name of the restaurant and the festive spirit found within.
But now, we invite you to relax. Let us pull up a chair. As the Disney Fashionista’s proudly present…this review of the Enchante Dessert Party!
Tartelette Cacahuete/Framboise
I want you to think of the most delicious dessert you have ever had as well as the most amazing peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Now, through both of those in the trash because neither of them will ever compare to this dessert! Shortbread is topped with fresh raspberry jam along with chocolate peanut butter decadence. Then, to add the glitz and the glam, the whole thing is dusted in gold!
As we bit into this first dessert, our table did a collective gasp of pure enjoyment. This is one dessert that I will be thinking about until, well, until the next time I am aboard the Disney Wish!
Noisette
I hope you like hazelnut, because this next dessert has an abundance of it! A rich and creamy hazelnut mousse is surrounded by a hazelnut foam (which is added to the dish table side). A crunchy cookie ring is topped with edible flowers and dollops of sweetness.
Our waiter described this dish as “a fancy Ferrero Rocher. He wasn’t wrong, but he did undersell it. This rich dessert packs plenty of flavor, is thought out meticulously, and is served beautifully.
Citron
Don’t let looks be deceiving. This dessert was most definitely not a lemon! While the presentation of this dessert was absolutely phenomenal, the taste was even more amazing. I’m not sure how that is even possible, but Chef Arnaud and his team pulled it off!
This dessert takes 3 days to create! The inside is filled with a perfectly tart (but not bitter) lemon jam that is made in-house. I could eat this jam with a spoon (and I literally did!). The next layer is a luxurious lemon cream that just melts in your mouth and makes you close your eyes in joy! Finally, the whole thing is coated in white chocolate, which perfectly cracks against your spoon. The talented team then hands the texture and final details to make this dessert truly spectacular.
Fraisier
Strawberry fields forever! This colorful dessert is a strawberry lover’s dream come true. You may think you know the flavor of a strawberry, but this multi-layered dessert brings out every ounce of flavor. I never knew strawberries could taste so good and so complex.
Chocolate Coulant
Next, you may have heard other desserts called “death by chocolate.” However, those desserts cannot hold a candelabra (see what I did there?!) to this one. My only regret on this dessert was that I was so full at this point, I could not finish it and enjoy it to its full potential.
A beautiful take on the idea of a lava cake, this elevated experience is a chocolate lover’s dream. Perfectly rich, not too sweet, and cut with beautiful mixed-berry sauce on the plate.
Pithiviers
The final dessert of the afternoon was the Pithiviers. This puff-pastry based dessert was light, fluffy, and oh-so-buttery! Again, I wish my stomach would have been able to expand more so that I was able to take more than a nibble of this dessert, because the skill and craft to form this perfect pastry is very impressive.
For those who want to get more out of this already amazing experience, the Enchanted Dessert Party also offers an additional wine pairing option. For $30, you can add a pairing of three wines to your experience. If you’re doing the math, that is one wine for every two desserts. I am someone who enjoys a good wine tasting, so I was all-in on this experience! It was such a fun (and tasty!) way to experience a few wines that I would never have the chance to try otherwise. The wine pairing for this experience included Sauternes 2016 (Caselnau De Suduiraut), Tokaji Aszu 2013 (Disznoko), Champange (Taittinger La Francaise).
First, I can absolutely not pronounce any of those names! However, that did not stop me from enjoying every single one of them with relish! My hands-down favorite was the Tokaji Aszu 2013. It paired perfectly with the Citron and Fraisier dessert. I loved experiencing how the profiles in the wine changed and evolved as it was experienced with lemon and then strawberry flavors.
Before I wrap up this review, I would be amiss to not mention the amazing service of the Cast Members! This experience is truly amazing and it is in large part, because of the Cast Members. From the moment you enter Enchante, you are treated like royalty.
While some experiences are a “one and done” type of thing, I would truly love to enjoy the Enchante dessert party again! I cannot wait to see what Chef Arnaud and his team think of next.
