Disney Villains Rule the Park for the Villains After Hours Event!

Disney Villains rule the park in the Villains After Hours event at the Magic Kingdom! This separately ticketed event is held on select nights from February 7th through July 10th. Disney hosted us for the 2020 premiere party which included villains, specially themed treats, and wicked cool merchandise!

Guests are encouraged to dress for Villains After Hours in their best villains attire. I chose a Maleficent dress with stained glass panels from Hot Topic. And if you really want to make a statement, book a Character Couture makeover with Disney! The stylists did an amazing job of turning cast member Lisa into Maleficent!

Event Exclusive Merchandise

I look forward to the special merchandise for every event! Villains After Hours merchandise includes tees, hats, leggings, and even a windbreaker all with the villainous lime green and purple color scheme. Although all the merchandise is fabulous, the new Maleficent light-up wings were my absolute favorite thing! I felt like an evil fairy wearing them! Click HERE to see in-depth coverage of all the event merchandise!

Tasty Treats

Specialty event food never disappoints, and Villains After Hours was no exception! There were beautiful and tasty treats and drinks all around the park! I highly recommend the Painting the Roses Red cheesecake mousse! I eat a lot of Disney treats, and this is one of the best I’ve ever had. It was sweet with just a hint of tartness and seriously gorgeous! This is truly an Instagrammable treat! Click HERE to see all the devilishly delicious treats from the event! And just in case you’re still hungry after all of these snacks, grab some popcorn, sodas, or Mickey bars–they are all included in the ticket price!

Entertainment

Villains ruled the park (or at least the castle stage) during an event exclusive show called “Villains Unite the Night!” Hades was the star of the show, but he was joined by Jafar, Maleficent, Evil Queen, and Dr. Facilier. There were fireworks, acrobatics, rocking dance moves, and castle projections! This show was the highlight of my evening! You can watch the video of the show HERE.

The Villains Cursed Caravan was a mini-parade of our favorite villains. Ursula was fabulous, and Cinderella’s stepsisters were hilariously adorable! You can watch a replay of the entire caravan HERE.

Both Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean had extra theming for the event. While I never got the chance to visit Space Mountain, Pirates had a few extra pirate villains throughout the queue and in the attraction itself. They were a lot of fun!

Photo Ops

Photopass Photographers were stationed throughout the park to capture all the memories from the night. The magic shot with the Mickey fireworks is my new favorite thing! There is also a special video from the night. And I loved the Scar backdrop; it was really well done!

Tickets for Villains After Hours are $145 per person, and I’m sure you are all wondering if it’s worth that price. In my opinion, it totally is! Besides the entertainment and specialty food and merchandise, the crowds are almost non-existent! My husband and I rode Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with less than a 20-minute wait! The crowds (or lack thereof) are what really set the After Hours events apart from other separately ticketed events such as the Not So Scary party or the Very Merry party. It was lovely to take a leisurely stroll through Magic Kingdom and feel like the park was completely ours to explore! Thank you, Disney, for hosting us at this fun and unique event! I’m already making plans to go again!

If you would like to plan a visit to Walt Disney World for Villains After Hours, Small World Vacations can help make your devilish dreams come true! Contact them for a truly magical experience!
