One of the reasons I love Disney so much is because of the strong female characters. Characters like Moana, Tiana, Merida, and Rapunzel are great role models that encourage kids of all ages to go for their dreams.
Now, Disney’s “Dream Big Princess” is celebrating these strong women with a Global Disney Bound at Disney Parks for International Day of the Girl.
The United Nations has declared October 11 as International Day of the Girl. To celebrate, Disney is inviting guests to Disney Bound in outfits inspired by their favorite female Disney characters.
What do you love about your favorite female Disney character? Are you brave and independent like Moana? Are you a hard worker who never gives up on your dream like Tiana? Do you always try to have courage and be kind like Cinderella? There are so many characteristics to admire in female Disney Characters!
If you’re having a hard time choosing your favorite heroine, team up with your squad for a group Disney Bound look. You can each choose a Princess and travel as a group for this global Disney Bound event!
As you prepare your Disney Bound looks, stay tuned for the premiere of the #DreamBigPrincess video series later this month. The video series celebrates female trailblazers across the world through inspiring stories and words of advice. To add to the female empowerment, these videos have been captured by 21 talented young women from 13 different countries. These are stories by women, about women, but for everyone!
From October 10 – November 20, 2018, for each like or share of a public video or photo with #DreamBigPrincess on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, Disney Worldwide Services will donate US $1 to Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation’s program supporting girls’ leadership and empowerment (minimum donation: $500,000/maximum donation: $1 million). For more information about Girl Up, go to girlup.org.
