Milestones were made to be celebrated, and film milestones are no different. Movies become a part of our lives, and celebrating their anniversaries helps us relive special memories. Disney now has a collection of ornaments commemorating the anniversaries of several of our favorite movies. It’s called the Legacy Sketchbook Collection, and it’s fabulous!
Mickey is turning 90 this year, so he definitely deserves his own ornament! This one features modern Mickey and his classic reflection. There is also a small medallion with the number “90” above Mickey. Each ornament has one of these discs showing how long the movie or character has been a part of our lives.
Believe it or not, Chip and Dale have been causing mischief for 75 years! Their ornament depicts a scene from Dragon Around.
The Sword in the Stone is 55 years old this year, and fans of Merlin are sure to love this one! I haven’t seen this movie since I was a child, but this ornament gives me so much nostalgia.
Star Wars is one of my absolute favorite movie sagas of all time. I love the plot, the characters, and the emotional memories of watching it with family. I was only seven when I saw Return of the Jedi, and I thought the Ewoks were the cutest things ever! This is one of the first movies that I clearly remember seeing in the theater, so this ornament is a little extra special for me.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit was groundbreaking for its time and still has plenty of fans today! It’s celebrating 30 years of fun!
The Nightmare Before Christmas is celebrating 25 years of spooky Halloween/Christmas cheer. This movie is a staple in my house from September through December, and we already have several Nightmare ornaments, but we probably need an anniversary one as well.
Mulan fans have been waiting a long time for merchandise, and 2018 seems to be their year. Her 20th anniversary has brought us a Dooney and Bourke collection, a few clothes, and now a beautiful ornament! I love that even Cri-Kee gets a spot here.
Both Wall-E and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are celebrating a full decade this year! Wall-E is pictured with his girlfriend EVE. The Christmas lights are darling! The Marvel ornament is double-sided with pictures of some of the main characters from the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.
