The Disney Parks Designer Collection has produced some stunning ears! So far, we have seen ears from Harveys, Alex and Ani, and Noah Fine. The next pair to be released, however, hits a little closer to home as they were designed by a Disney Cast Member. Kim Irvine of Walt Disney Imagineering created the Madame Leota ears, but her connection to the Haunted Mansion attraction goes even deeper than simply working for Disney. Her mother was Leota Tombs, also a Disney Imagineer and the face of Madame Leota! Ms. Irvine truly has a special connection to the character and the attraction, and the detail in the ears reflect that.
The ears are a combination of velvet and embroidered patches and feature artwork inspired by scenes from the attraction. A faux leather raven tops off the ears and gives an eerie edge to the piece.
All of the ears in the Disney Parks Designer Collection are limited edition, but these may be a little harder to get than the others. They will first be released at the Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary extra-ticketed events at Disneyland. If any are left, they will be offered to the general public on Friday, August 9. The ears will retail for $78.
While all of the ears released so far have been amazing, I especially love the history behind these. Are you hoping to grab these on August 9 or are you one of the lucky haunts who is attending the Disneyland event? Let us know in the comments!
