If you were in my house right now, you might be a little scared! I have not been this excited since before the pandemic! It was announced that Pandora will be presenting Disney Princess: The Concert. I don’t know if I can wait until November when it comes to my area!
This live concert experience celebrates all things Disney Princess by showcasing music from some of Disney’s most iconic Princess tales! There’s no official soundtrack just yet, I can only imagine that it will include songs from Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella, just to name a few. Each featured Princess will sing a song and share their stories! Even some Disney Princes tag along to share the fun! Guests are invited to dress up in their best royal attire. So of course, I will be wearing my Aurora dress!
In addition to purchasing a ticket, you can also select from several VIP Packages. The Disney Princess Royal Meet & Greet Package, which includes a seat in the first 5 rows and access to the pre-show palace party! During the palace party there are many activities, like a meet and greet, picture with a cast member, Q&A with the cast, VIP hosted games, coloring stations, and a photobooth. You also get a Royal Merchandise Pack. This includes a sleep mask, wand, sticker, coloring book, fanny pack, and VIP laminate. The Disney Princess Royal Palace Package includes a seat in the first 10 rows. You also get access to the pre-show palace party and the Royal Merchandise Pack. Finally, the Disney Princess – The Concert Tour Pack includes a premium reserved seat, Priority access to merchandise shopping, and the Royal Merchandise Pack.

Attended the Disney Princess concert with my grand-daughter in Lubbock on the 2nd of February. While the performance was outstanding, the VIP experience was a complete bust. Definitely not worth the extra money and time. I received an email telling us to show up 1 and a half hours prior to the show beginning so we could meet the cast, enjoy the festivities and shop early. Never got to meet the cast. The sound check was just so-so. The pre-show party room was nothing more than some tables with crayons, no one manning the photo booth and TV playing songs. The shopping was a table with some t-shirts – and those were mainly for adults not children. There was one t-shirt available for children sizes.
I will take my grand daughter again to see the performance (even though the cast was not in Disney Princess Costume) only because they performed so well,. You can forget the extra time and money for the “VIP” experience – IT WAS LESS THAN VIP!!!!
I attended the Disney Princess concert in Wichita, KS, on January 30th, and the concert in Enid, Oklahoma, on February 1st (I went to the one in Enid because it was the closest venue to my home that offered VIP tickets; the one in Wichita did not). The show was great in both places, and I highly recommend it. . .but the VIP package I got in Enid was sadly disappointing.
First of all, there was no real pre-show “party” to speak of. We did get the promised bag of goodies, but the so-called VIP lounge had virtually NO activities at all, except for some coloring supplies for the kids and a TV that seemed to be playing the same song from “Encanto” over and over again. There were no games, no snacks, no activities of any kind — we just had to sit around and wait until the meet and greet. The small selection of merchandise offered for sale was also disappointing, mostly fairly boring clothing items geared toward adults. Even Disney on Ice has a much cooler array of stuff for sale!
And the meet and greet was a major letdown for me, too, after five months of high anticipation. Disney wasn’t honest and upfront about exactly what kind of COVID restrictions they would have at each event, regarding your interactions with the performers — their website is vague, and just says that they will adhere to local COVID protocols at each stop. So, since I live in a part of the country with no mask or vaccine mandates, I took it for granted that I would have at least a semi-normal meet and greet experience. Boy, was I wrong!
I got an email just two days before the event that said we had to wear masks around the performers, and we couldn’t give/accept hugs or get autographs, which was disappointing, but I thought that I was at least going to get at least a couple of minutes of one-on-one time with each performer, and get some nice pictures with them. I didn’t find out until just before I got into the meet and greet area, that I wasn’t going to get any one-on-one time with any of them, or be able to get any individual pics with any of them. I had to stand six feet away from the performers, even though I had to wear a mask and they’ve all been vaccinated, and talk to them all as a group. This was especially disappointing because one of the main reasons why I was willing to shell out $235 and drive to a venue two hours away was for the prospect of getting to meet my favorite performer, Annelise van der Pol. Yet sadly, even though she was very nice to me, I hardly got to talk to her — because it WAS pretty overwhelming trying to talk to five people at once, especially five celebrities, at that — and I never got the picture with her that I was really looking forward to getting. All I got one was one socially distanced group photo that I found too disappointing to put on my FB page.
The performers were all very nice, and I’m not blaming any of them for this, but the Q and A and soundcheck were, IMO, a pretty poor substitute for getting to meet the performers one-on-one. Isn’t that why most people shell out big bucks for VIP packages like this — to actually get to MEET their favorite celebs? And do stuff like give hugs and handshakes, take pictures with them, talk to them one-on-one? Even with COVID restrictions, I feel like we SHOULD have able to do that stuff. Maybe it’s because I live in a part of the country where life is normal right now, these COVID restrictions made little sense to me, but I feel like, if Disney isn’t willing to have at least semi-normal meet and greets, maybe they should stop them altogether until this COVID stuff is gone. Or at least, tell people what to expect BEFORE they buy those meet and greet tickets. But they won’t do that, because then they won’t sell those expensive VIP tickets!
Here’s what I recommend: by all means, go see the show. It’s fantastic! But I would skip the meet and greets until this COVID stuff is gone, and Disney is willing to do them normally again. I don’t know if the procedures are going to change further down the line, but I just want to say that if you’ve got your heart set on getting to spend a bit of one-on-one time with your favorite performer, and getting a nice picture with them, you may be sadly disappointed! I just want to write this so that hopefully, no one else will be disappointed like I was!
