One thing that really screams summer for me is the ice cream truck. As a child, my favorite ice cream truck looked like an old school fire truck. I was always excited to see it pop up at all of the local fairs and festivals. I would either get a shaved ice, twist in a cone with chocolate sprinkles, or a character-shaped ice cream pop. Then I would walk around eating the shaved ice or twist in a cone with chocolate sprinkles. I was obsessed with the cute character-shaped ice cream pops but hated the way that they tasted. I’m pretty sure that we still have a Super Mario ice cream pop in our big freezer circa 2004 and those things do not age well! To help us ring in summer and get us ready for all of the ice cream that we are going to eat, Disney’s Aulani has new Shaved Ice Gear that looks good enough to eat!
The first item that you can pick up is a spirit jersey. This jersey looks like it was just handed out by an ice cream truck driver. Its rainbow colors scream of summer vacation and doing absolutely nothing all day. Aulani’s symbol sits on the front corner of the jersey. The words Aulani, Hawai’i chill on the back in sparkly rainbow lettering. You can’t help but feel sunny and warm after looking at this shirt! I could see myself wearing it during the winter when I needed some summer vibes. Also, I think that it would make a great shirt to throw on over your bathing suit.
In addition to the spirit jersey, you can also get a matching Aulani hat! This sunny yellow and white hat has a leaf and ocean blue and green lettering. This gives it an island vibe. The mesh back of the hat makes it great for summer. It allows air to get to your head while you still have something on your head to keep you in the shade. The cherry on this shaved ice themed hat are the see-through neon blue and green Mickey ears. I think that the first thing I would do with this hat is to look at the world through those awesome ears!
