For many Fashionistas, Dapper Day is the unofficial holiday of the Disney parks. And although Dapper Day is publicized, I always hear park guests wondering aloud why everyone is so dressed up. It’s like a fun, not-so-secret club that holds meetings in a magical atmosphere! Disneyland held its Dapper Day festivities on April 21 and 22, but if you missed that one, don’t worry—Walt Disney World is celebrating style with a weekend packed full of fun!
Start your weekend off by finding your perfect Dapper Day ensemble at The Dress Shop in Disney Springs. They carry vintage style dresses from Pinup Girl Clothing, Her Universe, and Disney Parks along with handbags, jewelry, and other accessories sure to complete the look. For the final touch, stop by Sephora for a mini-makeover. Sephora artists will also be available in the Marketplace Co-Op from 1-7 on both Friday and Saturday to help you perfect your look.
After getting all dolled up, you can head to The Edison to show off and admire the style sense of other fashionistas. From 7-10 on Friday, the Edison will serve special cocktails in their vintage inspired restaurant, and a bit of merchandise will be available as well. I can’t think of a better way to kick off the weekend!
The fun continues on Saturday at Magic Kingdom. We don’t have many details, but in the past, there have been special photo ops, treats, and merchandise. But the real treat of the day is seeing the amazing outfits that fashionistas put together! I love seeing the creativity and talent that goes into each one.
The Grand Floridian Conference Center will host a boutique on Saturday from 10-4. Charles Phoenix will be there promoting his new designs for Pinup Girl Clothing and will also lead a slide show at 11 and 2. The slide show will focus on the fashions worn to Disneyland in the 50s and 60s. Retromended and AKANBI will also be featured in the boutique.
Epcot gets to host the fun on Sunday. While no special events have yet been announced, Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival makes a beautiful backdrop for pictures, and the outdoor kitchens offer treats that are both beautiful and tasty.
One of the Disney Fashionista writers, Lindsay, will be joining in the festivities at Magic Kingdom on Saturday. She will be at the famous Purple Wall at 11:00 a.m. to meet our readers and hand out buttons. If you are going to Dapper Day, stop by and let Lindsay grab a picture for our Instagram!
