Arguably, one of the biggest draws to the Disney Parks is the opportunity to meet some of your favorite characters. Whether you run to meet Mickey Mouse, or wait regally to meet the Disney Princesses, there is just something magical about hugging your favorite hero or heroine. And it’s no secret that we love the Disney Princesses! We emulate their style, pose, grace, and dream about having their hair!
To celebrate the Disney Princesses, the Disney Parks online store is launching a new limited release apparel and accessories collection called “Heraldry of Heroines.” The Disney Parks Blog caught up with Cody Reynolds, Creative Manager with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group, who shared the inspiration behind the new designs.
“We wanted a collection that extended the story of the Disney Princesses at Disney Parks,” explained Cody. “Within the many unique kingdoms of the enchanted Disney realm lives an equally unique Disney Princess. In this collection, each princess is represented by an individual royal crest denoting strength, honor, and leadership. We looked to Fantasyland and imagery from classic animated features to design the coat of arms. This collection is a fun way to showcase the Disney Princesses without actually showing images of them.”
With the popularity of the Disney’s live-action remake, it’s no surprise that Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is the first Princess in this online collection. Limited release products will be available from July 10-16 at DisneyStore.com/ParkEvents. Items include apparel for adults and kids, along with accessories such as a tote bag or backpack.
Just taking a look at the picture above, I am loving the light gray t-shirt and burgundy tank top! Both of these items would be perfect for my next trip to Walt Disney World. And is it ever really possible to have too many totes? I didn’t think so! This Belle inspired design would be a great carry-all bag for this summer.
Cody also shared a sneak preview of additional designs coming to the online store. “The story of each Princess is woven into the design of each crest and is an undeniable mark of her adventurous, heroic spirit,” continued Cody. “Each design is filled with little gems waiting for guests to discover. We also included nods to the original fairytales.”
Guests will find collections inspired by Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” in August; Walt Disney’s “Cinderella” in September; and Walt Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” in November. Two additional collections will be released in early 2018.
